Would you advertise?

The karaoke place I go to on Thursdays is having a theme night this week. The color you wear is supposed to tell everyone if you're taken or single. I honestly don't think I could advertise that in such a public way! I'm planning on wearing blue or black- neither of them are choices for the theme! Would you advertise it?

Amy Borkowski of NYC took a less subtle approach... http://www.superbowlsinglegirl.com/

Heck, if I didn't hate sports, I'd do the same!

I know you didn't but I wish you would have!   Even if you just thought of it as a gag, it would be fun to flirt - be silly and sassy -just something fun and silly and foolish and FUN!

I have made outrageaous/ silly Derby hats, done the Halloween thing umpteen times,  along with tricked out and light blinking St Paddy Day...

It's just for fun...to change things up...

I would have worn day glo colors, painted my nails to match, found some earrings....LOL

It sounds fun.

My friend's 25 yr old son actually made some T shirts that basically said something like "Do you want to hook up?" but in an even more explicit way.  My friend was horrified cause she thought they were vulgar.  Well he went on a vacation to Vegas and sold out of all his shirts pretty fast.  I know that Vegas is a totally different environment but it did some how work for young peoople.

I'm afraid of that, too! I also feel bad for the people who don't know about it and wear the "wrong" color!

I think if I absolutely knew for fact that someone else I knew was going to be bold and go for it, I would as well . . .

I just wouldn't want to be the "Bridget Jones" of the party (the only one who showed up in the Playboy bunny costume).

That's the problem, 3x.  I'm not really there looking for a date (if it happens, I'm not opposed, but it's not why I'm there) so to me wearing their red/yellow/green would tell the crowd I AM looking (since I won't be wearing red).  I just feel like the men would be all over the women wearing green, and the women wearing yellow would attract the guys who like a challenge and then like to leave.

I honestly own NOTHING yellow.  I have one pair of green shoes, and I've worn them twice b/c I don't have anything to wear them with.  I think I'll stick with blue.  It's in the same family as green, so it'll make 'em wonder.  And maybe actually <gasp> ask.  Plus, I've been going long enough the regulars know I'm never with a guy.

Maybe wear a yellow scarf? You could always take it off.

It wouldn't bother me at all to advertise that I was single, but I don't have anything yellow either.  It's not that different from cbecking whether people have wedding rings, I guess it's just more visible from a farther distance.  And of course, not everyone wears a wedding ring these days either.

I would do it but that is just me..

Actually I have thought about having a shirt made up in where I could get it to say I am over 50 and single and looking and wear it. Not only would it attract attention but it might become popular.. and maybe get a date but again that is crazy me.
