I hope you all don't mind, but I just had the urge to share with some people that I've had some lovely dates with a new guy :) He's a high school chemistry teacher, coaches freshman football, and he also salsa dances, which makes me happy. The nicest part is that he is absolutely easy to talk with. I don't worry about choosing my words perfectly, and I don't worry about choosing an interesting subject, etc. - i just talk. Whether it's romantic or not, it's nice to have people around who you can just talk with easily. It's kind of like laying around the house in sweats :)

I really hope I don't sound like a snot, announcing this and all. I just don't have that many people I can say it to. And besides, in a week I might have to come back crying that it didn't work out, and this way i can save you the background info!

I second your 'yay.' :)

It IS so nice when you find someone who is easy to talk to (#1 criterion for me in a guy, actually), and if he's smart and

Yay! Well let me be the first to cheer!

And I know what you mean about announcing it. I've also met an amazing guy and we've had 3 dates in the past week and I cannot believe that he is real. He is basically everything I 've been looking for and so serious about me. I also didnt want to come here gloating but maybe it can give others a bit of hope. And I met him on Match.

And I've decided even if this doesn't work ou, he's renewed my faith in good men and that I can actually find one so if I have to be single again, I think I'll deal better than I have before.

Yay for meeting great guys!

thanks, sheri. the advice you gave me around my breakup a couple months ago was so helpful and comforting. i really needed some strength from others at that time to do what i knew i needed to, and you were certainly part of that. whether this relationship blossoms or not, i am so grateful now for that time and that decision. i learned a great deal, and i feel in a way freer.

i hope your relationship continues to bring you joy! ... i really hate to be a nag right now, but i had been wondering a bit ... i think you'd said you don't want a serious commitment right now ... he doesn't either, does he? i did, even though i kind of hid it. ok, that's enough - enjoy!

Hey there, I'm glad to know I was of help, I appreciate hearing that.

With my current BF, it's not so much that I'm not open to a serious LTR as the fact that he's not in a place right now to be talking about that type of thing--he's separated but not yet divorced so until his divorce is final, I'm not even allowing myself to think in terms of anything long-term and he knows that.

I had read somewhere, someone asked some spiritual type, "what makes a good relationship?

oh, that's lovely! indeed, i think that's the key to life - finding a kind of deep ease with everything. i didn't think "deep ease" was really possible in a relationship, but i am beginning to think differently. (i don't mean to hijack your comment if it was meant for sheri, but it was really lovely!)
