Wow - that sounds good! You write a lot of nice things about him. I will keep my fingers crossed that you both have physical attraction for each other. But at the very least you get a nice evening out and someone to talk to.
Good luck with this one! I think you're the only person I know who doesn't like having a phone conversation before the first meet, but it must work for you. I don't like meeting people I haven't spoken to at least once, but that's me.
Have fun, wherever you go, and if he suggests something that you aren't into, suggest something else!
Yeah, I know. Although i DO know someone else who does OLD who hates those phone conversations as well! lol
I should have learned my lesson. The last guy i was interested in OLD seemed fine via email .... but man oh man, couldnt put 2 sentences together on the phone. It was TORTURE. So, i never contacted him back after that.
Well he sounds very nice. I know you might be against it, but if the sparks don't fly, you might just end up having a nice aquaintance to do things with every so often. Remember, try to think outside of your "type". LOL! That for me is my own WORST medicine, but I have finally accomplished it. :) Good luck and have a great date!
BTW: I'm a huge restaurant snob, but for me, it's all about the food, not the place. I've had 3 star restaurants and I have had holes in the wall and sometimes, the hole just wins. :) However, I agree, Chili's for me on a first date wouldn't do it.
Yes, i did learn to think "outside my type" with Carlos. He wasnt at ALL "my type" at 1st ... but he certainly became "my type",lol.
I dont MEAN to be a restaraunt snob! lol & Chili's etc are fine for a meal here & there, but i dont know, I expect a guy to try to impress me on a 1st date. & chain restaraunts just turn me off. Not sure if you heard the story a year ago or so when i "branched out & lowered my expectations" & it was THE worst date ever. Met at a chain restaraunt, the guy SAID "fit & trim" in his profile, but he looked literally 9 month preggo!, he made no eye contact, asked if it "cost extra for the mushrooms" that the waitress offered on his $12 steak, & worse? He said to me "Wow! You just got back from Rome? Did you see the PYRAMIDS there? I always wanted to go to Rome & see them".
Me personally, I have to talk on phone before meeting. I have the 3-4 emails, then he must move to phone, and then he must initiate meeting up rule-if not next! I never make it to the phone stage, btw, but I still wouldn't change my rules as there are way too many chronic emailers out there and I never ever let anyone IM me. I used to in the past, but the IMers turn out to be the worst. I need real life communication to see if there's any spark of interest, if they can't even hold a decent phone conversation, why bother ?
Thorougly disgusted and giving it a break for the 100th time.
Sorry to hear you are fed up. I know how that feels!
I used to be the epic emailer. But now I just shoot a few lines and if it seems he is interested then I give him my phone number. The phone is important to me so I can hear if he has enthusiasm and a nice voice. But I understand how rlch can not like that - it is all about each one of us and what we feel comfortable wtih.
I am all for a personal meeting as soon as possible.
And I totally agree that the IMers are the worse. They are usually lonely and want some type of contact right now and want to talk about sex. UGH!!
I may be in the sick of OLD boat. But there is one good one writing!
Pyramids in Rome huh? Hmmm....I might have to go check that out for myself. lol I can't believe he said that! And why do men lie about their physique and height but when it comes to the women they are looking for, they have to be fit, slender, or athletic? Give me a break!
Anyway, I hope all goes well this weekend with your date! Let us know how it goes!

Egads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I dated a guy that thought Florida was on the border of Canada and that Texas was the Capital of Colorado! LOL!
Good luck with that, he sounds good.
