Okay you guys - I have actually found 3 seemingly decent men to talk to online so far. I mean this is pretty good because usually I don't like any of them for one reason or another. And you know I am picky and have high standards. LOL!

The first one is my favorite - he is into my sport and the outdoors, has kids, and renewed his subscription just to talk to me. Our emails are getting better. We had a tiny lapse in them because he thought he responded but didn't and then sent an email saying that. No big deal, dahling, because I had found plentyoffish and was in a tizzy with that. But I must admit, this one on paper has everything I have ever wanted with the fitness, outdoors and ability to make me laugh. But we still have to talk and meet. It is just neat to find someone with all the checks on the list.

Okay - and then there is the nicest dad from plentyoffish. He is cute and so down to earth. I mean after reading so many profiles where the dopes have a huge "no games, no drama, blah blah blah" profile or where they sound like some kids in a fantasy land hoping to find the woman of their dreams, this one is very nice. He is a single dad with 2 kids that says he hasn't had a date in so long. He is sporty and was happy to find me into fitness and knows people who do my sport and is impressed with it. So we have been emailing back and forth and so far so good.

Then I just got an email from match from a hot looking guy on match that likes to swim. He sounds a little blunt but I am going to email him back. He is a dad and likes some of the same things.

Okay - so I will keep you posted. My comments on OLD are that there are bucketloads of badones - but a lot more people online now than before and a few good ones. And you know I have the skills to weed them out, many by email. I must have deleted 30 today! At least I have people interested so I try to look at the bright side.

Thanks, Shrimps! I have you and Alison to thank for giving me the nudge.

I think OLD has gotten a little better becaused there are a lot more people and I have better skills now for the delete key.

He just seems like a plain nice guy and he likes me from what he can see, read and hear so far. And he calls and emails - that is pretty neat, too!!

He works in my town about 6 minutes from my house - and the guy next door to me works for the same company.

I am not really out to find "the one" or "my soulmate" - just a nice guy who is into me.

So, tomorrow after I pick up my son from school I should have a story. We are meeting for coffee at 2 and then I pick up the carpool at 3. No expectations - just coffee and a chat.

That's exactly what I thought when I went into that first date with Hiker. Just lunch, and possibly meeting a new friend who could share my love for hiking. I really didn't go into it expecting anything more than that.

It's just a total blessing that he's turned into such a treasure and that things with us have developed the way it has. But there is STILL no pressure to rush anything. We're just enjoying each other's company and it's just plain NICE!

Hoo- this is one time I got through the entire thread before responding, and boy am I glad I did!

I can't wait to hear the update with NSD, and I hope you continue to talk to the other two guys as well, and obviously we want updates!

Since I know you've fine-tuned your NEXT key, I'm not going to offer any advice- except maybe to keep an open mind. Know what you want, definitely, but be willing to look outside the box a little to find it.

OLD can be fun, and I'm so glad you started doing it again!
