And then some!! Hahahaha!!! I joined my single parents group for the night at a ski lodge in NH for a new years celebration. (first time doing anything for new years in over 4 years!!) It was hardly a celebration, but we as a group had a blast!! We had more fun back at the hotel and sat by the big fireplace, had drinks and listened to Mr. Exotic play his guitar while we talked and laughted until after 3am. There were a whole bunch of us which was really nice! I shared a room with mr. Exotic (I think I wrote about him before that I really liked him but I wasn't sure about the whole kid thing). This was planned ahead of time (yes a little manipulation was involved) and we did mess around quite a bit! And no, his son wasn't there and no, we didn't sleep together. It was nice. This morning we met to get breakfast at this tiny hometown diner. We noticed when we got there that news people were parked just outside but it was the beginning of a blizzard on new years day, so we thought it had to do with that. Nope! John McCain was coming. As we were walking out, CNN showed up. Pretty cool! It took me just over 2 hours to get to the hotel and over 4 hours to get home, thanks to the blizzard! All I have to say is thank goodness I peed before i left! Who know what if anything will happen with Mr. Exotic and I. We didn't get to talk about it today because his son was there and the rest of the group as well. I really do hope to hear from him again, but the ball is in his court. As I was driving home I sent him a text saying that I wished we could have spent more time together to talk and really get to know each other (other than the time we did spend together ;)) He responded by thanking me for the very nice thought. Not sure what that means, but that's all he'll get from me. His turn! ;) Overall it was a nice new years and now I'm off to bed (only got 2 hours of sleep!). Hope you had a great night and here's to a fantastic 2008!!!
Karie

Hmm...guess there isn't much more to this. Ohh well.
I sent Mr. Exotic a text on my way home from NH just saying that I wished we had more time to spend together to get to know each other more. His response was "THanks for the nice thought." That's it. I was confused and like what the hell! so before bed last night I sent him an email saying that I hoped his transition back to work wasn't too bad and I bet he wished he was still on vacation. (He was away for over 2 weeks). His response today was that he didn't go back to work until today and he was thinking of a career change. That's it. I responded "That sucks." and that is all I plan on doing. Nothing back from him. He lives over a hour away and is a full time dad

Oh dear.
I have no idea how I missed this thread -we have had so many that it probably got overlooked - sorry for that.
It sounds like this one is all about himself and not really wanting anything more. But you did your best and he had a chance - and the next lucky one is going to get you and that is his loss. But at least you got a New Year's Kiss! That has to count for something and maybe will bring you good luck.
Happy New Year!
"thanks for the nice thought"??????
Sorry Karie, doesn't sound like he's interested in anything further with you... if he was, he would've likely said something more encouraging, like: "yes, I agree... did you want to get together on (insert day)?"
Oh well, at least you had fun that night!
Yes - either they want you and want to move heaven and earth or they don't. This is a prerequisite for dating me. Because I do not like wishy washy or being confused.
You need - "here now ready now" - and "into you" - those are 2 prerequisites for something that goes good - along with matching core values, but you can worry more about those as you date and talk.
