Just wanted to say I saw Alfie this weekend and LOVED it - it was so funny, and so surprising. A must see for all single women, especially single moms.

It looks really good. I think it'll end up being one of those I rent though unfortunately. The only movies I seem to get to go to in the theatre are ones with the kids or the ones you just have to see on the big screen because of the special effects.

Who'd you go see it with?

Good for you! I have yet to go see a movie alone. I need to do that sometime. I'm so chicken. I've gone to a bar alone to see a band I like a few times when I was single, and I've gone to dinner alone when I've been away on business in my past job but that's it. There are so many movies I don't go see cuz I have noone to go with.

Kudos to you!

I used to do this all the time when I was single. I loved it! the freedom. I couldn't even stay and watch a movie twice if I wanted to, with no one telling me differently. :) I've even had occasions where I've sat next to someone who was also watching the movie solo. LOL

Although not as often anymore, I will catch a movie by myself if no one else is interested in going with me. I'm a huge enthusiast of the cinematic experience, so waiting for the video doesn't always cut it! ;)

Yes you have a point. The smell of the popcorn, the big theatre, the dimming of the lights and BEST OF ALL to me anyway, all the previews. i love previews. ;0

me too! I hate when I'm late to a movie and I've missed the previews!

All those things you mentioned are what really make it great...also, laughing (or crying!) along with the crowd. ;)

Agreed. You can totally lose yourself in a movie. Sometimes it is good to take a break from yourself, your life and your thoughts.

I always love a good story - and am very partial to chick flicks!! Romance, adventure, fun, funny - love them all. Won't give a nickel for horror or gore, though!!

Believe it or not one of the best cinematic experiences I had was going to see Dragon - the Bruce Lee story. Everyone in the theatre got up and cheered! I am not sure why - I guess for some reason it just hit everyone....

But I love chick flicks too and Alfie is on my list. I was going to go see it last Sunday but ran out of time :( Oh well - putting it on next weekends agenda!

i had a me myself and I afternoon on Saturday and went and saw this movie - I laughed- cried- got REAL angry with him - and just loved this movie-- if you have been with a commitmentphobic man or a player -- this movie will make you feel great ...in the end. I wont say more than that.
