Fabulous news! MG is keeping his building and his hours!!! Apparently one of the guys with the tenant (they have the 3rd floor exclusively) went to one of the VP’s of another even bigger tenant and tried to get them involved in the whole let’s get rid of MG and the property managers and presented him with the documents they were using to justify it and the guy sent them packing. He knew that there were blatant lies in just about every paragraph. So, he went to his assistant, who is the facilities liason as well and told her to send an email that was absolutely blistering and threatening. After receiving that, the guy with the property management company then went around to the 1st floor tenants and got pretty much the same feedback about MG’s performance, saying that not to let him get away, that if he’s got a better offer, you better pay him more money to stay. So the president of the local property management company forwarded the threatening email and got on the phone to the regional woman and she agreed that that changed things dramatically. Yesterday afternoon, the local woman met with the problem tenant and told them that since they were the only ones who had a problem with MG being the building engineer, they couldn’t justify removing him from the building. And the company that signs his paycheck verified that they’d received the communication and were happy to keep him in his building. We’re so relieved, so grateful, a Christmas miracle in our eyes. Also, it gets even better, the VP that instructed the email to be sent is the head of the legal department (and it’s the world headquarters for a major movie theatre conglomerate) and he told MG that he was ready to represent him pro bono in a defamation lawsuit against the problem tenants if it didn’t go well. That’s just huge and says so much about MG’s skills and his professionalism because this isn’t someone who’s a buddy, just a person that he’s been doing business with that thinks that highly of him.
Last night was so wonderful!!! We were so relaxed, I made a great baked pasta, and we watched the Charlie Brown Christmas special with dd. This weekend we’re going to a German Christmas market on Saturday and then doing a big turkey dinner on Sunday---something we couldn’t have done if the decision hadn’t been reversed because he would have had to work on Sunday. And he has his first service/thermostat install job for our business tonight. I’m filled with gratitude today.

Now how does this leave you with your crappy situation? I know you were moving towards the two of you eventually having your own business, is that still going to be the plan or has this changed that?

Good luck on finding a new job! I am starting to look myself after the holidays.

CONGRATS!!!!
That's great news Andrea. I am SO glad that your life didn't get turned upside down and that MG got such a great pat on the back! Good for him.
Sure does make the holidays nicer now huh? Who needs gifts?
