And the winner is........

Thanks to everyone who has been following my lengthy threads on my OLD escapades. I had quite a few dates and phone conversations.

And then I had this huge flurry of text messaging flirting in a big big way with the lifeguard. We are finding that we do have a lot in common with what we like to do. He has been sending a lot of texts and emails every day and it is so much fun. I like that he is so athletic like me and that he has time for me and he is really into me - asking me a lot of questions. He said I made him really nervous for our first date and he didn't even have the nerve to kiss me.

I wasn't sure what he wanted since his profile says friends first. And he says that is important and he doesn't want to rush things. We are doing some of the same races - so that is kind of fun that we can train for them together and have something to look forward to.

I got to see him on the beach on Father's day - he had sent me a message regarding the races. And I sent back a message that I am on the beach. Turns out I was parked right next to his stand. So I got to see him - he made a huge fuss and gave me cold water and made me stand in the shade since I had ridden like 60 miles. But I couldn't stay long because I was starved and had plans to see my own dad. I did wish him a happy Father's day. He was working for a friend who needed the day off.

So this is all good. We have a date this Saturday - I am cooking dinner. And he wants to know all my free days so we can spend time together. He was asking me about my schedule yesterday.

The neat thing is that he knows my coach and many of my friends through an online triathlon message board. And I know some of the people he used to work with.

Okay - and he has a really fast swim time - so I am hoping to swim with him too to get faster!! Plus we are going to race each other at our next races.

He wrote that we certainly have a lot to have fun with.

I will keep you posted!!

Edited to add: Thanks to Alison for reading my online profile and making me tweak it so it doesn't just sound like I want a workout partner. I was afraid I made this mistake with the lifeguard (because he asked for my schedule and I sent him my training schedule thinking he wanted to ride because his profile says friends - then it dawned on me that maybe that is not the schedule he wanted) and then when I took a more flirty approach he was really happy. And it just went along so well with our conversations. Texting is fun for me because I have a lot of wit - and so does he. And we can "talk" during the day while we are both working. And then talk more on the phone later on too.

I don't know yet - am going to the store today so should be inspired by what I see. Probably simple - chicken, pasta, salad?

That all sounds great!! Pasta is always good for carbo loading during training!

Can't wait to hear how it goes.
