anti aging update

OK here is my update for the anti aging products...I finally got the eye cream and the anti aging moisturizer with the serum I told you about. I still have no idea why it went to Jacksonville but thats ok....:)
I love the moisturizer. You wear it at night and in the morning and the serum is put on underneath it. The serum is clear and it needs to sit on your face three minutes and then you put the moisturizer on and it goes straight in - nothing greasy about it and it smells like oranges which I have to say I love....I am still really digging the Clarisonic machine and am using it two times a day. I think SYB is starting to want to use it too because it has a motor and beeps lol...The whole skin care regimen takes about 6 minutes which if it took any longer, I dont know whether I could really stick with it. I am not a gal that likes to take much time but I am someone who knew I had to do better. I dont know about you guys but I see a slight difference in the two photos I posted and I see a difference just looking in the mirror for sure. My skin is smoother and there are slightly less noticable wrinkles showing now. And after just one week on Clarisonic ( um ten days I guess really now) and a few days on the right moisturizer I feel I might be on the right track. At the very least I think it is making me take more time in my skin care and that CANT be bad, right?
I was not so great in the gym this week. But I did exercise and had off with my son for Spring Break. I am also eating better and sleeping more. This is all helping I bet....Anyhow, I am wondering where you guys can see a difference ( even slight) or whether I am just feeling better about it. Just curious!!BTW I know the lighting is a bit different but it is darker here a bit today so that is why the second photo isnt quite as light. I tried to make the rest as comparable as possible as far as no makeup and time of day and the angle...

That WOULD be something to be over the moon about. Only he has to be in the genetic equation. If I get pregnant through your pic there I cant guarantee that the baby would have Asian/East Indian features and I think it might tip him off that I have been cheating on him on the Single Mothers Board. HAHA. I really would love it someday though and he is well aware!
I know the pull you are feeling. Just give it another week so I can give you the low down. I will have some tips by then too I am sure. I already know I was using too much serum at first in the first day even though I did what they said. And you barely need any of the moisturizer it is so good so no slathering. The Clarisonic has its own set of tips I think to get it to do what it is supposed to do. YOu just have to not force it or press it on your face and go super slow so you can feel it working from the inside of the brush. I honestly think a lot of the improvement might be due to Clarisonic - based on the timeline it seems likely. Go figure - of course that would be the case since it is so darn expensive. But I might think differently once I have used the other stuff a week or so.
Thanks for the kind words and cheerleading!!!

Hey Liz. I got the bare minerals on ebay. It looks like normally you can get it for as you said, 60. Although I saw craigslist postings for less than that in an unopened box. I think it is totally worth 60 though because it comes with all of those brushes and you get basically a bronzer, 2 foundations ( one slightly darker than the other, you can mix them or use one in the summer months), luminous finishing powder and the foundation doubles as a concealer. You really cant beat that when you look at how many products there are. Alternatively, if you just wanted the foundation you might be able to go in and just buy one foundation and the brushes but I have a feeling that will still run you up near the other price to buy things separately.
As for the other products, I think starting out with the Olay is a great idea. I still have some Olay eye cream and I am using it still when I feel dry around my eyes during the day. I use the good stuff at night and I am using the good moisturizer and serum day and night. But the results you see in the pics are from only two days on the good products so most of that week was using Olay and my Clarisonic. I think if I have learned ANYTHING if it is that I wasnt exfoliating my skin nearly enough which is why it was dull. Even without the clarisonic you could make a homemade scrub and exfoliate your face well and I just wasnt doing this. Then the moisturizer works better and your skin has a glow. From what I have read you can mix sugar or salt ( I would do sugar since the salt might sting on a breakout of any sort) and mix it with olive oil and if you are looking for a scent you can add rosemary or mint. You just put sugar in a bowl and make the oil go slightly above it and use it as a paste. A friend of mine using a mixture like this from a jar that she made in her kitchen and has it in her shower. I have in the past made a mixture of sugar and honey and used that and it is great as well. Have you ever noticed how beautiful your skin gets when you are at the beach provided you dont burn. Its the sand and the moisturizer/sunblock. The Clarisonic is just exfoliating and cleaning out my pores twice a day and making the products more effective - I think there are many ways to do this really.
And by the way, I didnt expect to see a difference in my skin this early either - pretty darn happy about it!!

That's a big difference! Wow- especially in the wrinkles you had around your eyes... they simply disappeared! And in just one week, too!!

I have Bare Minerals and I love them!!! I also have the eye shadows, but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to get them to work, either. They just don't want to go on dark enough for me, nor do they last very long. So I have them, but I continue to use the traditional

I know, right? I can still see the wrinkles around my eyes but they are definitely less and the one in between my brows is almost gone completely. I am trying to reserve hope that the horizontal worry lines on my forehead are on their way out as well but we will see. Those are deeper and if they go away I swear I will buy this stuff for the rest of time:) lol.
Its weird because I have always had pretty good skin, clear and no real problems except one single bout with acne in my early thirties that caught me by surprise. And somehow still there is a HUGE difference right now in the quality of my skin and it looks a lot younger. I am not kidding when I say I got hit on more than twice today blatantly at the dog park and that hasnt happened in a while:) I think I just look younger, period and there is something just pretty about youthful skin. Its like the rest of me is exactly the same, sweatpants at the park, hair in a ponytail, and yet for some reason the skin just made a difference. I was actually talking to a group of guys at the dog park with Monty and then when I left their area I heard one of them giggle and say to the other "Now what do you think you are looking at, hmmm?" and I turned around and he was blushing/smiling a bit - I have no interest in other guys of course but it was so nice to feel young and pretty again because guess what? I do think I can recall feeling young and pretty not so long ago. It is nice to recapture that feeling. Maybe we should all go looking for that feeling!!

There is one thing I am doing so different this time in my trying to get back in shape and fighting this darn aging thing. I am allowing myself to feel feminine and pretty by taking care of myself on the road to fitness. It isnt going to be an extreme makeover once and only if I see that stupid number on the scale. I am just trying to take better care of myself in general NOW in as many ways as my life will permit and I know the weight will come off when it is time.

Those darn eyeshadows. I dont get it. AND I really think they might work with my skin tone but I need an eyeshadow primer first so you can see the colors and so that they dont just seep into my skin. I dont know what primer though. I think the colors are lovely and the quality of the stuff is great - just need to set up my lids to take it the right way and so far I havent figured it out. I might do a google search on this and see if anyone else has answered this question on yahoo or elsewhere. Will let you know...

Thanks for your support on my quest!

You're welcome!! It looks like more than a few ladies on here use it and I think we are all happy with it so I think you will be too. Watch the video even though there is an immense amount of product who*ing in it. It is very instructive and the process is easy but I think I wouldnt have done it correctly had I not spent those ten minutes watching the thing. You really only need to watch the first part about the foundation application. The rest deals with the eye makeup and extra products they carry and after a while it does get a tad ridiulcous IMO. She just keeps layering on more minerals to this one womans face and you cant be sure whether it isnt making her prettier and prettier - it seems to be but she was pretty cute in the beginning to. I laughed at one point while watching it because it seemed like it was a spoof of itself and I might be watching SNL by accident. I keep thinking she is going to haul out this immense freakin mineral by the end and then smash it with a hammer and gather it up in her brush or something. She loves her product for sure - I think she might be sprinkling it ( and maybe some cocaine too - Im just saying!!) on her cereal....gotta give it to her though - huge success, right? I wonder what her background is? Wouldnt it be cool if she were a single mom?
