i get my childsupport biweekly i have no contact with my ex this week i'm only get half of the childsupport as in one week. if he had switched jobs it uselly takes a couple of months to get the support going again its wage ganished so i dont think thats it unless they sped up the system. well i know that he got married a couple of weeks ago if he had taken a week vaca after and was unpaid would i still have gotton the whole two week support or no. i know if it was weekly there would have been no money but since it is every other week would they take two weeks out of one? do you know what i mean? its not that big of a deal i just wish i knew when these things were going to happen a head of time i had to skip paying my darecare last week cause i didnt have the money so i was going to pay them both weeks this friday using the child support now i'm going to have to come with somewhere else.

anyone have any experence with this.

Sorry to hear you are going through this. I know there are women here with good experience and advice. I would be inclined to ask him nicely - maybe there was a mistake?

At any rate, don't waste time getting to the bottom of it and doing whatever you can.

Hmmm... sounds strange. If you are supposed to receive a set amount every two weeks, then you should be receiving it. Does he not get paid vacation? Because if he did, then he'd be earning money even if he was off, right?

I think you should A) read your legal agreement and then B) consult a lawyer. It's great that you have the money coming off his wages directly, but is the money set to what he MAKES every two weeks or is it set to a SPECIFIC amount to BE DEDUCTED from every pay?

I also think that you should push to have the agreement changed so that you are notified should the amount coming to you be less than 100% of what it should be.

I get my child support monthly, and it's based on 8% of his ANNUAL salary (divided by 12), not his weekly or monthly pay. So do find out what the calculation is based on. If he should be forking over $100 every two weeks, but his employer is only garnishing $50, then he may be liable to come up with the other $50 bucks for that period on his own, you know?

Hi
i get my child support bi-weekly like you. I don't know what state you live in but I know here, the dept of revenue which governs child support enforcement is so screwed up and full of red-tape and employees who really don't care, we have had more problems caused by DOR then by either of us parents as far as child-support. If you don't have any contact with him but he has the child support taken directly out of his check, I'd start with the DOR in your state (assuming that's who governs child support). They should be (hopefully) able to give you some answer. Then you can call him if you need to.
He should have to pay regardless of taking an unpaid vacation in my opinion.

Good luck!
