Beauty can be a handicap

Many of us here think that if we had the perfect body or face we could be more successful in dating.

But that just isn't true.

I am deeply saddened about the story of Anna Nicole Smith in the news. It seems that her own beauty was indeed a handicap and source of great drama and despair in her life.

She never knew her own father. She dropped out of school in the 11th grade and at 16 got pregnant and married the father of her son, a fry cook. After the divorce she became a waitress and later a topless dancer. Once playboy got ahold of her it seems that she was put on the same treadmill as Marilyn Monroe.

I don't think her childhood came even close to preparing her for what she had in store.

And can you imagine how sad she must have felt when her own son died - never mind with the post partum depression of the baby she had.

I think she cherished the attention and desires of many men. But she did not have the intelligence or skills to separate passion and desire with true love. I bet she was lonely for too many of her days.

I do feel sorry for her. And am troubled by the fact that her poor baby girl is really left without a family.

I was really saddened by the news as well- I remember how upset I was hearing about the death of her son so soon after the birth of her daughter.

I am also saddened by this news. What a colourful character she was. From her marriage to J. Howard Marshall, through to her weight gain and subsequent loss, she was always an interesting celebrity.

Perhaps because of her beauty, I could never really dismiss her as a money-grabbing gold-digger, although I acknowledge her marriage to Marshall was probably not a love-match!!

It is indeed terribly sad for her baby daughter. I hope whoever the father may be will see to it that she is cared for and loved.

I'm so glad someone feels the same way about her that I do! Her life was very tragic from the beginning.

The only ray of hope is that hopefully her baby girl will be able to avoid the drama that had followed Anna Nicole around. People will forget and I hope that this little girl will get a clean slate as she deserves.
