Best Rejection Email Ever...

I went to look at a house that was for rent last week. While I was there the guy told me that he already had another application and that if I wanted to I could fill one out one case the first one fell through. So I did and gave him my email address. This is what I got in response:

"I wanted to thank you for coming by and considering my house for rent. I cannot tell you what a pleasure it was making your acquaintance. I found you to be absolutely adorable in every way. It has been a long time since I enjoyed just chatting with someone, so much. I am currently reviewing all the applications, and checking references. However, as I told you yesterday, and as you saw, the elder gentleman there who brought his application with a deposit. Should his references check out, I will likely accept him as the next tenant. I also noticed your desired date of occupancy was July 1st, and I have hoped to get it occupied much sooner.
For what it is worth, you made the most wonderful impression on me, as I am sure you do many people. I would have absolutely loved having you as a tenant, based on that first impression. I am hopeful our paths will cross again."

Not bad for the ego, eh? And pretty articulate for a guy. Btw... do you think the people we talk about here ever find out that we are talking about them? lol

Hey, is this landlord single, cause it sounds like he wants to date you. lol This is actually how I met my 1st DH--I was living in an apt. w/ 2 roommates and they were both leaving, so I was looking for new roommates. I had an ad in the paper (this was before the internet) and he answered the ad, which said "looking for a professional female to share apt." I met him and finally said that I didn't really feel comfortable having a male roommate who I didn't know, so he said "OK, how about a date then?" And he never moved in--we got married about 2 yrs later.

He seems like a pretty nice guy. He's a little on the heavier side than I would like to go out with. Plus when he gave me his address to mail the application it was a town that's fairly close to where I'm going to school but an hour away from my house. I don't know if he works over this way or what.

I actually have my hopes up for a guy that came into where I work. We were talking a bit and he was hitting on me a little but I was busy so I told him that he should come back and see me. If he takes that much initiative I'll probably consider going out with him at least once. /cross fingers. I really hope he doesn't have issues. Why do so many guys have issues or is it just the ones that I meet? LoL

LOL so funny! If I ever need advise on how to ask a guy out I definitely know where to turn. That's a great line.

I totally agree with R unless you don't think you could get over the appearance thing.

So I got another email from the guy that was renting out his house. It was equally flattering. He gave me his cell phone number and asked for mine. I figured what the heck, I texted him so he could have my number. We talked via text for a little bit tonight and I found out that the guy is married but he says they are having problems (I can't imagine why...) Anyway, good grief. Could I possibly meet an unmarried guy for once? This is the third one for me.
