Bike, Shop, Date

Okay girls - I had a date. LOL!!

Last night I went out with my high school and long time girlfriend - we didn't stay out too late. This morning I had a long bike ride - got that done. Then started working on a to-do list of stuff I want to get done around here plus a big shopping list for the discount store.

In the middle of all of this, KM calls and asks to take me to dinner tonight. I said yes and then had to think a minute about where is DS - he is on vacation - so cool on that. LOL!! I guess I am so used to having him here that I think he is still here.

He picked me up - and we went to a fun place in an outdoor mall. So we got to walk around and chat. And then we had a really nice dinner. All in all a nice evening that ended too quick really.

He walked me to my door and he got a cheek kiss!! LOL!! I want to take things slow. But so far so good. He is surprising me really - with good things - good surprises are good. I like his stories a lot so far.

Sounds great, Judy!

I'm usually not a fan of spontaneous dates, but that's when I have the kids with me. Since they've been gone, Hiker and I have had several spontaneous dates! He better not get spoiled with this current date-a-thon we have going, because the kids will be back soon! (I'm getting spoiled with the date-a-thon, so I better watch out!) It's going to be a bummer to have to whittle ourselves back down to just one or two dates a week soon. We've really been enjoying all the time we've had together lately.

Keep the great updates coming!

I like how things have been pretty casual/spontaneous no pressure 'get to know you". It different that OLD because there were no expectations up front in seems.

So tell us more about KM! What does he look like, does he have kids? How old is he? Or did I miss the vital stats on another post?

lol...inquiring minds wanna know ;o)

Thanks PacSun - yes - I think it is different because we just had fun kayaking and he is teaching me a lot about that - he is really good.

He is 51 - so 6 years older than me - fit - likes to bike, run, kayak, lift weights. He has one daughter who is 22 and pretty exceptional from his story about her. He is attractive - fit and just a bit taller than me. The thing I do like is that he is an exceptional gentleman by the way he picks me up, opens the door, and takes notes on me. I like that.

But I am trying not to think about it too much - I think my jump in mode has been tempered a lot by MA - because he was really good at dating and then when you got to know him - watch out - he was so annoying and off kilter. So, I know I have to take time.

Right now I am busy at work and the coach just cranked up the notch on training hours. He explained that it will get easier next week and I emailed him back and said - ok - but I know that "easier" is not "easy" - big difference - LOL!!

DS keeps calling - apparently he got the PUK lock put on his phone by playing with the buttons and turning on the security device - when you put the wrong pin number in it ten times then it locks permanently and you have to buy a new SIM card. I am wondering if we should take bets that his dad will refuse to do that and return him back here for me to do it? LOL!! But at least his dad is letting him use his phone to call me - I just don't like that because I feel that the calls are censored - and I never do that to him and his dad.

C'est la vie, ouie?

My bets are on that your DS will in fact come home with out the new SIM card and yes, that will be up to you. My ex would do the same! How is your ds? Is he enjoying his time with dad? My ds is coming home tomorrow night. She has been with gramma for over a week now. I miss her!

You're so wise to just take things slow and as they come with KM. No expectations, just going out and getting to know each other. And not over think it, just go with the idea that he likes taking you out. And see where it goes! It just sounds very relaxed and easy. I like that!

I thought it was funny that you kept the kayak on top of your SUV until the lesson. Did

Thanks PacSun. I will have to keep you posted on the SIM card. How cool that your DD will be coming home - I hope that she had fun with her grandma.

DS is having fun right now - he is going to be away 2 more weeks. This has been the hardest year - I really don't like having him gone that long.

He was laughing at me about the kayak having to stay on the top of my car - my car is so high that it is a trick to get it up there by myself - I don't think I will be able to do that - although DS or a neighbor can help.

You are right - no overthinking!! He has an interesting story and he is a good dad - and he has good qualities and none that I don't like - so it just has to have time.
