Bought bigger clothes today....

I can't decide if I'm happy or sad about that. I went to Old Navy and found 3 outfits that I can mix and match with each other or with other items. Really cute stuff and quite reasonable. I decided to go a size larger than normal so I can wear it longer. I'm not ready for maternity clothes so it's either buy clothes my size and not be able to breathe in a few weeks, or buy a size bigger and feel more comfortable. It was so hard to buy a size up. I focused so hard to lose weight after my divorce and dropped 4 sizes. So alright, I'm still not where I was then, but it's still a little depressing.

I guess I need to take Shane's advice and just realize that I'm pregnant and will gain weight and it's okay as long as I take care of myself. Bigger sizes will happen for a little while and I'll lose the baby weight because I really am focused on doing it. Just thought I'd share.

Hugs,

Mel

Pay attention to Shane...you're going to grow! And be beautiful! Mel, so long as you're eating for ONE and realize that the baby you're eating for is not an adult and doesn't require mega portions for himself, you're good. I was really surprised to discover that the eating for two equated like two extra glasses of milk, not an extra 3000 calories (like I craved). There are three women at work, all of them lovely and round in the belly, but they've managed to keep their legs and arms and faces the same. Keep walking...take a prenatal yoga class, whatever so that you don't get stuck with those extra 60 lbs. the baby didn't require. It's one thing to gain them when you're 24, but my friend (39) who's never had a weight problem is still trying to get rid of that pregnancy weight two years later. It's just tougher when your metabolism slows down.

I agree. I eat just like I always did. Maybe even less. Depends on my needs for that moment. But I eat only what I'm hungry for and push the rest away. I ate only half my lunch yesterday. Couldn't down the rest and I wasn't nauseous. So far, my weight is the same. Nothing gained yet. I just went ahead and bought a size up so I could wear some stuff longer. I figure it will be a little bit still before I need maternity clothes. But I did see some very cute stuff. Almost looking forward to buying some. Might do it soon just so it is here when I need it and the winter stuff is coming out now. I could go ahead soon so it isn't all picked over.

Anyway, I'm taking it all in stride. I didn't gain hardly anything with Dylan and I plan to make that happen again with this one. I'm very conscious about my weight because I have had a problem in the past and never want to go there again.
