Okay - I am up late and can't sleep and thought of a fun question of the week for all here. Even the lurkers - come out come out wherever you are.
ONe of the reasons I am up so late is because my mattress is smack dab in the middle of the living room floor. It is thundering loud, the dog is walking around because he doesn't understand why I am sleeping here. And my son is on spring break so he is having a sleepover.
The floor guys decided to attack my room today - I was supposed to sleep with DS since he has 2 beds but he wanted a sleepover and I said yes.
Okay - and when the tile guys were pulling everything out they started teasing me for how dusty my room is. Then they found a dried banana peel behind the nightstand!! Okay - so after these intense training sessions I sometimes have to eat all night. My new coach thinks I can train like an Olympiad!! And right now I am so fatigued I can barely get through the day.
I explained that I am mom, dad, the maid, the cook, the tutor, the pool cleaner, the dog chaser, the businessman, and much more. The flooring guys had a good laugh.
But I thought how fun - I bet all of you gals are MUCH more - so tell us - what do you do in your house?

Well, I really AM a candlestick maker. Not sticks, exactly, but I make soy candles for fun, because I adore candles, and to give away as gifts.
I'm also head cheerleader, a nurse, taxi driver, short order cook, Santa, Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy, dream weaver, librarian, gardener, maid, housekeeper, launderess, photographer, butcher (it's a country thing, I think), occasional baker, tutor, baseball coach, fashion expert, personal shopper, mechanic, fixer of all broken toys, answerer of obscure questions (do cats have belly buttons? of course they do!), economist, budget planner, veterinarian, and lumberjack.
Then I go to work.
It's funny, you read all the time how much a mother would get paid if each of the things she does as a mother were paying jobs- I'm thrilled I can do as much as I do- since paying someone else to do all of this stuff would surely be out of my realm! And I think the rewards are incredibly satisfying- the look on your child's face when you've repaired the chain on his bicycle or taught him to throw a curve ball, done a pirouhette with your daughter for no reason and taught her the proper way to curtsy are priceless.
Moody, up early and can't sleep

What on earth do you mean by the tarantula being a catch and release situation?
I have seen those in the wild - and they are huge and hairy - kind of like a big crab. And they jump and are quick. Do you mean that YOU catch it and then turn it loose outside? I know they like flies so I guess I could see that is why you want to save it.
Quite frankly, I am not sure what I would do if I saw one in my house - fortunately that never happened in all my days in AZ. It would intimidate me too much to squish it or catch it.
