I have two dogs, both pugs, Emma and Roxy. Roxy is around 5 and Emma is 4 1/2.
Roxy came to me from another family and when I got her she was about 3 years old. She was such a pitiful sight. I was told she was needing a good home and the first time I laid eyes on her I knew she would be part of my family for the rest of her life.
I'm not sure how Roxy was potty trained. I crated Emma and she does great.
I take "the girls" (that's what I call them) on walks in the morning and the evening. Emma does her things right off the bat whereas Roxy takes a really long time and has ever since I've had her, but she would eventually do her thing.
Now it's got to where she doesn't go at all and she's having accidents in the house! Our walks are like 30-45 mins. long. It's like she has never been taught NOT to go in the house. Sometimes she gets back on schedule (during our walks) and then she gets back off schedule. She's driving me nuts! Nothing has changed as far as the walking or eating schedules. I can't seem to keep her on track. When I first got her, I tried crating her and she went beserk ... I couldn't handle that so I took her out and I would not try it again...it was pitiful!
Any suggestions?

I have a black female Pug named Maggie that I adopted from a rescue group! She is 4. Here is a link to a good site for Pug owners. Go to the forums to see where they post about health issues and ask for suggestions. Lot of experienced Pug owners on that site!
Good luck,
Stephanie

Emma didn't like her crate all that much so when she got to where she was dependable, when I would leave the house, I would gate the kitchen doorway and put her in the kitchen and let her out when I got home. They both have the run of the house and i don't mind the dog hair on the couch and what not, but this is a different story!
Like I said, I'm not sure how Roxy was trained and she was fairly good at first getting on schedule with Emma but she was never great about it. She would have accidents just every now and again but nothing like now, and she's sneaky about it! She does all this during the night when me and DD are asleep. She just flat out doesn't go when she's suppose to, even with me encouraging her. Maybe I need to put both of them in the kitchen until she learns again. They are spoiled rotten....on our walks after they do their business, they know to come to me for a treat, they get it, and we continue our walk. LOL, Emma even squats for like two seconds trying to psyche me out and comes to me for a treat. It's hilarious! When Roxy does go, she comes to me for her treat, just like Emma. Roxy doesn't try to psyche me out though LOL!
