Last night the roads here were awful--I was already late picking my kids up when my car broke down on the side of the road!

I am still hoping for Countryboy to pull through--even if he is just a temporary fix--he is a good guy and he did help me in my time of need--I hope he is just busy working.

Did he not call yesterday and no word yet from him today?

I hate to sound pessimistic, but just maybe you did give way to much information regarding your financial situation.

Just an aside, not commenting on the countryboy issue.

If a mechanic told you not to worry about something for awhile and sent you on your way after repairing the car, they ARE responsible. Since you know nothing about cars, he could have done whatever he wanted and told you it cost $500 bucks to get your car back.

I'm lucky to have some mechanics I trust personally. The one I use now, came after I dropped off my car KNOWING it needed a brake job (200-300$) and he fixed the sensor and rotated the tires (40$). The people that aren't trying to hand you a giant bill and telling you to wait on things are usually the real deal.

The mechanics I know personally all like the one I go to now btw, their shops just don't do the maintenance I need. Maintaining your car is something you blow off, I did for a long time, until you realize how critical it is.

I think that things sound nice with Countryboy- It was kind of him to do that for you. And the openess is very good, and it sounds promising! Yes, give it time and maybe you will find yourself letting go a bit. He sounds into you and to me it seems lime he is willing to go at your speed. This is good!

And I'm glad things are better in the car department :o)

According to the whole Mars/Venus thing, him getting the part was expressing his love. It's hard sometimes to accept help, but sure nice to have it :)
