The post about the 2 year old got me thinking. I bet we collectively have a lot of great terrible but fun 2 year old stories to share.
I was sharing these stories with my DS at dinner and then decided this has to be a fun thread for all of us. So, if you are an alumni, lurker, frequent poster, mom, dad, whatever - come post!!
- DS handed me an ice cream cone he was eating and said, "here" - I said are you going to eat any more? And he replied, "NO!" - okay - it is 112 degrees in Arizona and we are in a park or shopping center. So I pitch it. He WALES!!!!!!!!! At the top of his lungs. Okay. What is the problem? You were done with it? "BUT mama, I wanted you to put it in your purse!" And I said but sweetie, it would melt and ruin mama's purse. I can buy you another one when you are hungry for one again. "okay" but then he would wale all over. And we repeated this over and over.
- DS wanted to walk to the ice cream store - which was like 8 miles away. I explained we have to drive there because it is too far. But we can park sort of far away and walk real good.. Okay. But then 2 minutes later I get the "I don't want to drive there I want to walk there! scream. So we repeated the dialog until we got to the store.
- "Will you read Cat Hat again, mama?" "SURE!" - and this was like 50 times a day. Books, movies - he liked the same ones over and over and over. And he always demanded that I get him the machine that the Cat in the Hat uses to clean the house. He called it the wheel and wanted one right now for his room.
-He climbed the refrigerator with his boots. And he was wearing a "crabby" crab t-shirt - what a great picture!!
- "I do!" "I do!" - he always wanted to do everything himself.

All of these stories are too awesome. Kids are so fun during the toddling years. When I read the first post by Judy (I'm trying to get caught up reading post) I immeidately thought of my daughter and her ice cream fit!
When she was about 3 I had scooped some ice cream for her and had put it in a bowl. She just started crying and crying and it took me the longest to figure out what was wrong. She kepts saying "I don't wanna it" It took me forever, but I finally got it out of her that she wanted the bowl of ice cream to look like the picture on the box of ice cream! I got it to half-way look like the scoops in the picture and then she took it.
And one vision I will carry to my grave is my daughter sitting on her potty chair with her hair in a little ponytail holding a storybook and wearing these little bitty glasses from her Mrs Potato Head. It was sooo cute!
