I tend to be out of the loop on the news most of the time, but occasionally something will catch my eye on my e-mail provider's opening page. Apparently, Christie Brinkley is divorcing hubbie #4 because he's been running around with an 18 yr old. He paid the girl something like $300,00 in hush money. This article just killed me because the philandering dork is acting like having an affair is no biggie, and Brinkley is in the wrong for making it public. Excuse me? That is not worse than hubbie's addiction to porn and running around having sex with a woman young enough to be his child. Here is the final quote from the attorney:

Sheresky also blasted Brinkley for wanting to keep the trial open to the public.
"That's putting her agenda in front of the best interests of the children," said Sheresky. "What kind of a mother wants her husband flogged in public?"

Uh, given the circumstances, what kind of mother does not want her wretch of a soon to be X flogged in public? And the fact he sees the open knowledge of his behavior as socially equivalent of being flogged goes a long way to say he knew what he was doing was morally reprehensible yet he still did it.

Well,at least it goes to show you even the spectacularly rich and beautiful will fall for total creeps.

That is funny you should post that, QB!! I was thinking EXACTLY the same things as I was reading that yesterday. No one is immune to such escapades - she is so gorgeous and well socialized and connected.

And the worst thing is that he is going to give her a big fight over total custody. She might have that in mind with her flogging - that she doesn't want to lose her kids to a man who is engaged in such immoral behavior.

And then on the flipside... what do we really know about what SHE is like? If she's been through so many marriages and divorces.. you have to wonder if she can be a horrible person in private, despite looking so beautiful in public! You just never know...

But it does make you realize that the great looks doesn't count when it comes to keeping a happy relationship.

I've never met Christy in person, but being from Long Island, where she lives too I know a lot of people who have met her.

I think when you are that beautiful and a celebrity you are around people who are smitten with you for your looks and prestige. I mean, if you were her - how would you pick a really good one? And the whole industry of showbiz/modeling is built upon people who are the jocks of instant gratification and me me me attention.

They showed tonight on the news while I was running on the treadmill that he was spending $3k on porn a night from his computer and he had an affair with an 18 year old and there were more indiscretions as well - it was a great shock to her when she found out. I think he clearly had a problem. It was probably brewing for some time.
