I love the quote to your kids....my parents used to say something similar.
I love seeing my therapist once a week or once every two weeks depending on what is going on. I just feel like at this point she helps me be able to manage and balance all of the different aspects and relationships of my life. It is tricky at times and she helps me center my thoughts and emotions. I think most people could be helped by a counselor every so often but that is just me.
I totally agree with your conversation with SEV. It made me think about this conversation I had with my Dad a long time ago that cracked me up in a sad kind of way. He said he was having old friends in for a visit and they were staying at his house ( two gay guys) and barely speaking to one another - can we say awkward? So it turns out one of them finally reveals to my Dad over dinner that the other one has finally discovered in therapy that all of his problems are due to his involuntary circumcision as a baby (????) And he is putting them both in massive debt because he is looking for a surgeon to take skin from his hips ( ok how gay is this?) and put it on his penis to simulate getting his foreskin back so he can start his life over. LOL

Something tells me your dad's friend has bigger issues than the skin being taken from his penis when he was a baby!!!

I guess I would say if it quacks like a duck it is probably a ......ok but I dont want you taking offense to that now moon!!lol
Yes, I think the issues are pretty deep and wide for him to hold onto that but my point was that it is kind of striking what people will do to blame things in their life on their childhoods or in this case infancy rather than taking responsibility for their actions. It is just so much easier this way....
