Court today!

So, in the typical fashion of my ex husband (sorry gotta get caught up on all the abreviations lol) he waited until the last minute to file for our divorce, and he's getting married in 11 days. Yes, 11 days for a pre-paid wedding in the Virgin Islands.

So, yesterday he finds out the divorce was denied due to a missing signature. Lucky for him he begged and pleaded enough to get a court case today. I was kind of proud of the fact that I could say my divorce was smooth and we get along great, never went to court! lol.

I feel sorry for his fiance, she is in mass panic mode.. and she's so nice. I couldn't of asked for a better woman for him to marry and be around my girls. We're not close, we don't gab like girlfriends.. I think thats crossing the line. But I like her.

Pro's of finally being divorced: I get my name back!! My maiden name was something simple like Jones, Smith, White. My married name is something similar to higgenbottom, or hershburger. LOL

Cons: GRRR! Gotta pay for my own health insurance now! !@#$@#%@#

LOL! I can relate to the happy feeling of getting your name back. I never felt comfortable with my married name. It felt like a shoe that didn't fit right. It did not help that it rhymed with my real fist name.

If I ever re-marry, I'll keep my maiden name. I missed it!

I did too.

Yes, I have 4 brothers - two of whom already have sons, and one who hasn't started having kids yet, so our family name will continue on.

However, my ex is the last male of his family line.

Like something out of a novel I read recently: guy had to hurry up and get the divorce over with to marry the new GF.It does make it go much more smoothly if one person has a definite timetable to keep.

Congrats on getting your freedom.

I also got my maiden name back, but have yet to officially change it with Social Security.
