HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

I can remember when I turned 40 I woke up this morning and thought "Damn, I'm still here and there's nothing major wrong with me!" LOL!!! My older sister tried to make me feel bad about it (her 40th really hit her) but she did not get that accomplished.

I turned 44 last month...didn't think too much about that either, other than "Damn, I'm still here and there's nothing major wrong with me!

BIRTHDAY HUGS TO YOU!!!!

Hey, I was 43 when I had D3 and my grandmother was 43 when she had my mom, so it isn't all that impossible. Since Psycho Boy is a RE I know ALL the technology stuff- but my tiny surprise was just that- a surprise, no technology involved. One can do IVF and then have PGD (preimplantation genetic diagnosis) and be guaranteed a healthy child, and now adays they don't put back more than 2-3 embryos, depends on your hormonal response to all the drugs and the likelihood you'll get an embryo to implant and the pregnancy will take hold through the first trimester. It amazes me humans aren't extinct already, we're pretty inefficient at reproduction and so much has to go right for it to work out. And for anyone considering IVF, research it nationally. PsychoBoy gets a lot of patients from the East who do the hormones there and come here for the procedure because the cost here is so much less.

I have a very good friend, L, whose younger son was murdered by the babysitter- yes- a total nightmare. She waited a couple years, then, since she was 38 and knew she wanted a divorce, she decided to adopt a child from Russia. It has worked out great for her and her little girl. N looks just like L, you'd never guess she was adopted. D3 and I will see N dance in "The Nutcracker" on Sat.

I'll be 47 just before Xmas. i don't feel any different than when I was 35 so it doesn't bother me. And I have so much less stress now than when I was younger now that PsychoBoy is not so big a part of my life.

Wow - how wonderful that you adopted three children. What is involved with that? Would love to hear your story if you don't mind sharing.

Why don't you have your eggs frozen? Even if you met the "one" today, figure a year for dating, a year for living/together engagement, so you'll be 42 and if you're like the majority of women will have a significant decline in fertility between 40-42. Or if you deviate from that time line, if you're 43 or
