Okay - I have a boyfriend! I want to jump up and down and say that. And at the same time I can't believe it. I really can't.
We had date #4 - it was at a simple bar with a live band. We talked a lot. About what we like to do. What is important to us. The boxes just kept getting checked for how we are similar. He likes to cook healthy and stay in shape. He is nice, considerate and positive. Grew up here like me. Likes the same kinds of vacations. He told me stories about how he handled his jobs last night - and he is indeed a kind soul.
And OMG can he kiss. I guess it is the combo of both of us. He is very affectionate which I adore.
Neither of us wanted the night to end - the time went by so fast. My DS was text messaging me and we both enjoyed that and I answered him. I made sure DS had a great evening at home with a new video game and pizza and other treats so he would feel special.
So, get to the good part.
Okay.
He walks me to my car and we kiss. Time stands still. And my silly knees go weak.
But then he stops and leans up against my car seat and says - I want to know flat out what you want. I said, seriously? He says yes. So I say I want a long term serious relationship. (How's that for spitting it out!?) And he says that is what he wants. So I said that means you don't want to stay online and keep dating? (okay so that is almost sarcastic because we all know how much fun that can be, right? NOT!) And he says no! So we are both delighted that we are on the same page.
He says he wants someone he can do things with and talk to every day. And that is so what I want. He is tired of girls who just want to be friends with benefits.
He cannot believe I am single. But I said I could say the same about him. I explain it has been a long time since I have last dated - I have a kid - it is not like I can be out in the bars or even out much and I work from home. And we both agree it is so hard to find a match at our age and that we both got so lucky.
I cannot believe I am typing this. I just shut off my profiles.
So, I am sure there is more good stuff to come. I feel so so so lucky.
He also made it clear that he does not want more kids- and I said I feel the same way because at 45 I know I am done. And he says he doesn't mind that I have a kid that he enjoys them and knows that mine is a great age. And that all the hard part is done - it is time to enjoy.
Someone needs to pinch me. I want this for everyone here, too.

Soonee, you kill me, LOL! I'd be "Pant, gasp.... owww oww oww (shin splints)"- hobble, hobble, then "splat" when I fell over you! I know a woman here in AZ who is an ultramarathoner. She's WON the Badlands race (some ridiculously long race through Death Valley) a couple times and she's MY age! I do not know how her body can stand that kind of punishment.
QB- who confines her mini-marathons to an air conditioned treadmill with a TV.
