Okay - I just talked to the lifeguard a little bit ago. He was really nice on the phone and was asking me about my training schedule and comparing work and kid schedule and stuff like that. He wants to meet me and also to ride his bike with me. I explained that exh is taking ds tonight and he said no problem - he would fit it - he suggested a time and then said he will call back a few hours before to confirm. He was very accommodating and suggested that I pick a place that is good for me.
I have a lot of hesitation with this one. On one hand he is very into my sport and we have had a lot to talk about with that and our kids. But on the other hand he is getting out of a long relationship and wanting to just get out and meet people. And lifeguards do have a reputation of being what they are - they are grown up spring breakers. Not all - but some.
It is a fun night out - hot - but not too hot I will be good - and you never know. I just have to see what he is looking for and if he is into me. He was very nice on the phone and in the emails that he wrote.

I'm glad you're exploring it.
Don't write him off simply because of his occupation. You know what personality traits you're looking for, and there's no law that says a man has to be a PhD in order to have them.
You also know what lifestyle you're looking for, though, and what it takes to maintain the one you have. Success is a personal thing, but unless two people are on the same page, it will be a rough and bumpy road. Hopefully this guy's at least reading the same book, but even if not you've got the right idea about it being better than sitting at home.
Have fun, keep us posted!
