I left my ex back in Sept after finding out he had a 21 year old Russian girlfriend ("hes 43 and hes old and she makes him feel young and good and they are in love and i need to get over it"...yes verbatim). So I moved our 23 month old daughter out and am starting over. Trying to anyway. (Did I mention she moved in 48 hours after

Short and sweet would be my advice on how to break up something that didnt exist really to begin with. Think about it. You were more excited about the idea of how it would make you feel to be dating someone decent than HIM really. There wasnt enough lead up or actual dating time spent for him to feel very invested here so just do it soon and be clear but short in words about it. You can always write an email here and we will tweak it for you. We have ALL been there and certainly done that.
We could all probably use a brush up on our skills as to how to NEXT someone with dignity and clarity ( err so as never to really hear from them again I mean) LOL

Well Pacific...as long as you are not naming each fish (and if so thats ok too) I think your duaghter will draw the line at you having her friends deliver a eulogy for their beloved friend Flippy. I swear as much as I thought my mom was nuts I now know the apple does not fall far from the tree. When I was in highschool I had a guinea pig (funny...thats just one of the names that i fondly refer to my ex as..LOL) who died from OLD AGE. I swear she was the oldest living guinea pig (again the pet ...not to be confused with the ex) anyway, she died and her poor little lips were blue. My friends and I came in to find my mom on her knees trying to give her water and revive her...We (my friends and I) had to burry her for my mom. So I know that being the crazy cat lady who yells at her dog for not sharing with her 2 year old is simply genetic. Ohhhh the horror of it all...

Hmmm short and sweet...you know I thought about it and thought about it and even considered going the "its not you its me" route but then i remembered my ex and how I took the blame for the relationship going bad (yeah, Ive since woke up and snapped out of it) and decided against that. Besides maybe it would help him to know hes just a big putz who is clueless. To harsh??? Wow i am bitter....LOLOL

OK well maybe just short - sweet doesnt seem due at this point. He really didnt go to any trouble to have your college dinner after all. You were kind of being treated like a wall decoration or a new pretty lamp for his living room in some odd way. I dont think anyone should have a date the way you described until you get to know the person and have both relaxed, know each others' places and just simple want to stay home and chill. That can be warm and wonderful. But in the beginning it just screams lack of effort to me. Like I said before, it doesnt really take much to create a situation when you are dating where someone is reminded of how special they are. An budget can do this!

As long as we're playing "naming confessions", I name the trees I plant.
