I know age is just a number. The guys in their 50's that have been interested in me I have not been interested in. That isn't to say I would totally rule them out, but they have been the corporate type or their main interest seems to be posting pics of their Harley's. Or they look like like they could be my Dad!
I totally agree about health and physical activity too. Both are important to me and many of the older men I have come in contact with are not very active or in good shape.
I figure when and if the time is right, I will meet someone. I always enjoy reading your posts about you and Hiker!

I know Steph... I totally agree with you! It's just that I couldn't resist messing with ya on that one! ;-)

I know what you mean though... I've been contacted through Match by men who are in their 50's (when I was still in my late 30's), and they just seemed waaaay too old for me. Maybe it's just a number, but it's also a mental thing. Once I was in my 40's though... the thought of someone in his 50's just doesn't seem that far away. Weird huh??

But... I have had some of those "old 50's" people contact me too. The ones who look like they could pass for 60-something, with all white hair, big belly... not for me! I think I would just end up looking TOO young to be standing next to them! lol

Awwww thanks Rebecca *blush* Ouch on the short comment though.... Hey 5' 7 and 1/2" TALL! That 1/2 inch makes all the difference in the world too!

I was telling someone that I use to use the Internet to look to meet women (and I still sometimes do thru MySpace) but because of the shopping mentality and having such criteria of age, height, etc. I know I get screened out (and visa versa). I seem to get better responses when I meet women in person this way they can fully and personally experience my charm, wit, youth, and height *grin*

Totally with you on the lifestyle/lifestage thing. Most single guys my age (early thirties) looking for a serious relationship are wanting to start families. I'm perfectly content with the two healthy kids that I already have. My SO

Totally agree - how many times do you think *I* get weeded out b/c of "body type" ... when in reality, i am SURE my sparking personality & wit , lol, would make them see me as a PERFECT SIZE 5. Yeah, right.

...... & now, 40 is closing is SO FREAKING FAST ... I will soon be weeded out of all the searches that end at age 39 as well. Cripes!

Well, I think a big thing for me is that my stepdad is 7 yrs younger than my mom, he just turned 45... so in MY mind, anyone in their 40's is more of a match for my MOTHER than me, you know?
