i agree that i prefer meeting someone in person... however.... it's best to have many avenues to meetng people.. onlne... in real life... at the grocery store... speed dating too....
Numbers game....
And i thnk it's best to have a positive attitude ... that banter with all diferent people will help any person to grow and learn... more about yourself and more about relating to people..... it's not a waste of time....
but i agree that i don't like online dating myself....
Oh wow Mark - this is great news that you are on EH too. I think the traffic has increased greatly since I first joined about 4 years ago. I have had a lot more matches and KarateMan was on there!
Of course you must know I am being selfish, here with my enthusiasm. I can't wait to hear your opinions and reactions to the process as you go through it - so please keep us posted - on what you think of their process, what you put in your profile and what you think of the communication stages and your matches. Hope that is not all too much to ask - I am just the curious sort!! LOL!! And you know we all adore having a man's opinion around here never mind one who has taken such a good amount of time to be self aware and educated about dating and relationships!
I still think the best way to meet people is by being out there, in the public doing things, having the ability to just say "Hello" to someone and having and intelligent, up beat conversation.

ITA with you 100% Online dating has been nothing but a disaster for me, and I've been
a member of all the sites at one point. The worst and most expensive was Eharmony.
I think that sucess is also dependent on what part of the states you live in, here in
NY metro area it's awful, same people on the sites for 5+ years who are serial
emailers with no intention of ever meeting you in person.

I agree and this is my primary focus.
What prompted me to get on eHarmony the first time around at the beginning of 2007 was my reading from a medical intuitive, Awakening Intuition: Using Your Mind-Body Network for Insight and Healing by Mona Lisa Md Phd Schulz and Christiane Md Northrup.
After reading the book I decided to look her up on the web and found that she gives readings.
