No shopping here! I do most of my gift shopping online anyway. But to get out and fight those crowds?!? Not anymore!
When I was single and had no kids, I used to like it. Partially just for the people-watching, not the shopping! But with kids in tow... the thought of the crowds just doesn't thrill me. I'd rather stay at home and shop in my jammies! lol
Plus, this year I've been sick through this holiday. Ugh that I wish I could remove my head and put it in the closet somewhere! So we haven't gone anywhere unless we had to. For T-giving, we went to my Dad's house and had some turkey dinner, and watched the Cowboys play (yay Cowboys!). Then I came back home to CRASH with my new best friend, Nyquil.
Although my ex and I have a legal arrangement of "every other" with T-giving and Christmas, every other year... he has yet to take them for a T-giving (at least I dont' remember him ever doing so) and he rarely ever takes them for Christmas, either. He usually only comes to visit and keeps them for part of the time- a day or two, max. This year he claims he will keep them for the whole Christmas break (like he said he would last year- but didn't because he ended up with cancer surgery)- but as always when it comes to him and his plans... I will believe it only once I see it. Usually something comes up and he doesn't.
Most of the holidays I am not alone- I have the kids with me. :-) (although THIS year, I could've used the time alone to just be SICK and not feed/take care of
Hi Shrimps,That is a good idea " hot choclate and shooping in jammies". I guess I still like the people watching :-) and my BF is not into that at all..lol.
Sorry to hear you were sick, Shrimps. I echo your thoughts on shopping. Most of my shopping is done online. How is your exh doing? I remember when you posted about his cancer - was wondering if he has had any news. I know it is hard on you to have 2 kids 24/7 but I do know that it is great to have the kids all the time for the holidays. This year I do have DS and I really dread the years that I don't have him for Xmas.
Yesterday I had to take DS to a sports camp and then I swam 2 miles. Busied myself around the house til DS's dad took him in the evening and then went to the mall for just a bit - to get a few odds and ends. I am now pretty much done with shopping and I enjoyed a quiet evening to myself with me and the pups.
MA went to his parents' house for TG and he stayed there to help them around their place.
I would never want to shop with an SO or even a kid - I love to shop alone. I can go everywhere I want to go and quickly, too.
Yesterday the mall was just a mess - I really didn't feel like trying anything on or going to all of the stores - but maybe that is because I was tired from my swim?
