My 4 yr old can't stop talking about birthdays... since she had one a few weeks ago, i had one, and ds8 has one next week...

So she asks me, "what number are you again?" (meaning "how old are you?")

I hesitate to answer because i don't want her telling everyone we meet, ya know, like people at the grocery store, etc. But she insists.. so i tell her the truth... 36.

She says... "oooooh my, that's soooo old... "

LOL.. so i say, "I meant to say 16"

And she replies, "that's still old mommy."

LOL... that's a 4 yr old for ya!

She is a cutie!! You will have to tell her that you will need her help to blow out all those candles!! :-P

I bet she loves birthdays - with the cake - and the presents!! They are like magic to a toddler/small child.

Of course the rest of us could do without them.

"what number are you again?"

My D4 uses the exact same terminology. And she is totally into birthdays even though ours are spread out. She always wants to know who has the next birthday in the line-up. But she has not decided 47 is very old yet and she does not talk about the ages of others in social situations-yet.

36? what a kid!
