Did I over-react?

Hi Everyone.

I'm batteling a cold so please excuse my foggy brain. I'll try to type coherently :o)

I am wondering, does anyone else kind of flip out when they can't reach their SO at night, or even in the day for that matter? I guess that I go along so happy and content but maybe an insecurity monster sits below the surface. Blue Eyes often goes to friends after his sporting activities like last night. He is usually reachable by cell phone and if not, he's home by 10pm for the night. Last night I kept getting his cell phone's VM and he wasn't home even by almost 11pm. I got worried. More so that I thought something had happened to him rather than his being up to no good.

I just hate it when that happens, I kind of start getting a little panicky. It reminds me of being young (but old enough to stay home alone like 12 or 13 ) and my parents would go out and come home really late...do you remmeber that feeling...of worry? So I couldn't reach him and he know that we talk every night around 10pm. I always call after DD is in bed.

He finally calls me at 11 pm from his home. He had gone to a friends house after disc golf. He told me that he did

Hi Priscilla,

I appreciate your point of view. I think that I did come off as suspecting and accusatory. I felt badly for that and I hope that my back peddeling will be enough for him to know that I'm not going to be there chaining him to me. These things are good to get ironed out early, expressing our expectations which I have come to realize are not always reasonable!

I was able to tell him that I had grown accustomed to talking to him in the evening and so it was my expectation...but that my expectation was unreasonable and too high in a way. Our talk gave him the relief last night to come a little towrds my way also, understanding that I did not mean to overreact. It's all good. If I couldn't get a grip and realize when I'm out of line, then I think we would definately cool it off for a while, whether I wanted to or not..he would

Hi Pac Sun,

Sounds like you had a great discussion and were able to clear the air.

Lol!

Yeah, last night I was kind of feeling like when the trainer puts his finger on the puppies nose. I'm so new at this, having been married for 12 years not in a grown up give and take way, and I never learned in the relationships I had before that either..! BTW Blue Eyes just called a minute ago and asked what he could do for me since I'm sick. I said I'd love some chicken soup and TLC in bed, LOL but just his smile and phone call is enough to get me through the day.

A big yest to still learning about ourselves.

LOL!

I'd go if it was Clooney's museum or Matthew McConaughey's...or Richard Gere's...mmmmm. They have to be the real thing though there in person. No wax peoples...that's just creepy.

Moon, my uncle & his wife live next door to Burt's ranch in Jupiter -- the ranch is too large for them to be close neighbors or anything, but it's kind of cool for them to be able to say they live next door to Burt Reynolds. Lonnie (Anderson) used to live there too. I think it's where they have the Museum. Never been myself, but bet it's a blast to see all his memorabilia. I've been a fan of his for years, and I'm too young to really remember Smokey & the Bandit, ha!
