Awwww...that is so wonderful to still have those memories after a fire!

Did you grow up in that house?

I went through these same feelings with my parents when the house burnt down. It was a huge grieving thing...for my mom due to memories, countless ones. As an artist she had made lots of stained glass windows. One was a beautiful 15 foot high one..it took her two years to make..it was the center piece of the house. It was built into the living room wall. Light would pour into it. Many things like that. The house had a lot of my mom's SOUL in it as an artist. For my dad, what hurt him the most was that he had done so much of the building and designing of the house.

They re-built, too. But not the same design. It just would not have been the same because ut had been so unique. But the new home they built on the property was so beautiful. Just like your parents- new everything. They sold it a few years later- a move my mom regrets to this day.

It is nice how you connected with your mom after the fire in their house. It must have truly bonded you in an unspoken way. I know you're concerned about telling her about the move. But I have faith that it will be fine.. all that will matter in the long run is how she sees your happiness and your girls happiness and and security with SEV and coming together as a family. I just KNOW she will not be able to deny that..she'll feel it like we all here feel and sense your happiness!

XOXO!!
