...The wicked witch is, well, not DEAD but gone.
I got the call. Just now at work. He said he told her and she pretty much guilted him about ending a ten year friendship. He seemed a little, almost sad? I think what got to him was her saying that she blamed him for the secrecy saying that HE did not want her to call when I was around. Thats true, but it took both of them to carry on like that.
It feels weird. I feel (in an evil way) really great that she got was coming to her. Cut off point blank. Does that make me evil or what? I feel powerful in the way that he did that to keep me in his life. But to be honest I do not think he is 100 percent convinced it was right to shut off all contact. Maybe he will in hindsight.
So where am I in all this? I was pretty much silent and all I could really muster was "wow...so it's done." She was the biggest thorn in our relationship. I think somehow he wants me to show my appreciation or thankfulness for what he just did. But why should I

No you aren't evil for listening to your gut, determining this woman as a threat to your relationship with BE, stating your feelings, and setting a boundary. This kind of thing happens all the time. My marriage ended because my X (who I will be ranting about in another post- the police just left) wouldn't acknowledge my repeated requests that he end or at least keep on a professional level, his relationship with the Nurse. I knew what she was doing, he just couldn't give up the adolation. WEAK!!!So it just escalated until it became what it became.
My very dear friend, a psychiatrist who died of breast cancer last fall, had a similar problem. Her husband, also a physician, had a staff member who was putting the moves on him. She objected, asked him to do something to have this person transferred to another dept. He thought she was making a big deal out of nothing. She framed the situation as this is something that I feel is a threat, so he did it. His wife was far more important, and her sense of security was important.
We women pick up on the manipulative, unscrupulous women who target men who are technically unavailable- either married or in an exclusive relationship. Men just are blind to it. It does speak well of BE that he actually took the step.
So celebrate. You enforced a boundary, stuck to it, got what you needed to get. Feel good about standing your ground.
