I know many of you might find this a bizarre question, especially since we had that "have you ever kissed a girl" question a while back, but I ask because I recently came across, much to my disdain, a bunch of playboy magazines my boyfriend owned. And well the girls in those magazines are all shaved down there!! Being a woman I'm starting to feel insecure. Does he want me to look like that too (because I have hair down there)? And isn't it kinda wierd that he like girls who have no pubic hair?

I did think it was a bit of an odd question... but it's not like we don't talk about all SORTS of crazy things here anyway!

I wasn't sure exactly what the question was asking- as I know women might shave/wax the hair downunder- completely... but I think alot also just remove SOME of it and not all. Would they answer with a yes or no if they only remove some of the hair (as with a brazilian)?

I think men prefer differences just as much as they might prefer different hair colors. They might say they have a certain preference... but when it really comes down to having sex or not- they don't really care. lol

Personally, I don't 'get' that completely-bare look. It's too "child-girl" to me and I'd rather look like a woman. Trimmed up neat and not crazy-bushy, sure... but not the extreme of NO hair, either.

I am with you Shrimpy, I don't get the child-girl thing either.

I didnt get it either - till I did wax it all - & now I would never go back. Its such a nice, clean, fresh feeling. & when you wax, there IS no itch growing back

I'm with you on this one. I've heard the "looks like a little girl" argument and I totally dismiss it as lack of self confidence. My womanhood isn't related to any body hair I have or remove. I've been shaving it all off for some time now (can't afford professional waxing and too squeamish to wax myself). It is much cleaner and fresher, looks terrific (to me anyway which is all that matters) and so much more sensitive when I need to be sensitive in that area (wink wink). When you first start to shave, the skin can get irritated and bumps, but after a short while the area becomes conditioned and used to it and the irritation goes away. As an aside, if you ever have sex with a guy who is also clean shaven in that area, the bare skin against bare skin sensation is...indescribable, especially if you use a bit of lubricant.

Hair traps dirt/sweat. You can get to everything easier without hair and (I personally think) feel it better. You can leave a little at the top. About 2-3 fingers thick and 1 finger long or so. No hair is trendy right now. Just take it off and see his reaction.

Ok Rebecca I am seriously serious about this. We have a place here called the naked monkey that does the waxing and I was thinking about doing it...how bad did it hurt the first time? I am worried since I am fat...and have a chunky "monkey" hahaha but I think waxing would be much easier than my current routine of duct tape, flashlights and mirrors! Ok that is an exaggeration but still. I haven't formally seen my vagina since 1992 with out having to lift my fat roll! UGH. I heard waxing might not be a good idea for people who are overweight. I just want it gone...gone easy with out all the hassles and nixs and those horrid ingrowns I occassionaly get!

So any advice or thoughts...helpful and appreciated and sorry if this post was TMI!

That "fat roll" ... in case you missed last years anatomy lesson here, its called a PANNUS. Yes, there is a WORD for it. Medical term. Ick. & yes, I am obsessed with mine. The girls at work crack up - like i may bump into something & I say "Oops, sorry my pannus bumped your coffee". & when i lost 50# 2 yrs ago? My pannus SHRUNK, BIG TIME
