hello everyone,

I have only posted a couple times. Been married for 18 years, newly divorced. Anyway, i have been seeing a guy for about 3 weeks. Things are great, we enjoy the same things, fishing, movies..etc.

Ok, the embarrassing thing.. :(

He came over to my place for the first time. I only wanted him to come into the garage because we were sorting out tools. I have a 6 month old puppy, and my carpet is quite stained from housebreaking him. I had plans on shampooing it the next day. I didn't want him to come into the house until I had it cleaned up.

But he asked to use the washroom, what was i supposed to say.. "NO"? lol

So he saw the carpet and was quite disgusted. I am renting here, so a lot of the stains are from before I moved in, but still it is pretty bad. :( He brought it up later, and was kind of teasing me about it, but not in a meean way.

I can't help but feel he thinks I am a dirty person now,. It's hard to keep a super clean house when you are single and have 2 teenage boys and work full time, and have a puppy. whew...

Anyway, it's just embarrassing that he saw what he did, before I had a chance to make my house presentable.

Any related stories might make me feel better..LOL

Why dirty up a bowl when you can just eat out of the bag?!!? lol

I'm definitely the eat-out-of-the-bag type... but then I eat too much. So sometimes I use a bowl just for portion control, but yeah- eat from the bag!!!

I just read this today, but flylady.com might help if the issue is continually "Can't Have Anyone Over."

Made me plenty nervous to give him a key, since he could go in and see what the house looked like without warning. That being said, it keeps me keeping the house pretty darn neat. :) Once you get in habit, picking up after a dog or kids, it's easy to continue.

I still have days where I wish I could put blinders on him though ;)
