EMT Cancelled date to see another woman

So EMT calls up Sunday and says he got a chance to go see the Red Sox play that night "with a friend" and was wondering if I would mind if he canceled our date. I said no, its one of the last Sox games so go have fun. Well last night I meet up with EMT and during the small talk I asked who he saw the game with. His reply was "Leslie". And then came a long winded explanation of how she couldnt find someone to go and it was a make up game from a rain out the day before so she asked him last minute.

Part of me thinks its cool. It was a friend and I have to trust him. But another part of me says 'hey, you canceled a date with me to go out with another woman'. And they were out until 2am. I have such mixed feelings about this. Its not that I am jealous. Its the issue of canceling our date to go out with another woman, friend or not. Its a weird feeling.

I agree, RUN if he goes on that cruise. That just wouldn't fly with me.

Mark, I'm replying to you because you just reminded me that I thought of you at work today, lol. I was talking to a candidate about areas he would relocate to, and he said that he likes Portland because it has great biking and there are so many people who bike there. He said he used to own a bike shop like 10 years ago. Made me think of you and all the biking you do in the Portland area.

I see some red flags too. The cruise is a big one. I have a lot of male friends and my man has a few female friends but we don't sleep in the same room or stay out late with them.

Thanks for thinking of me Liz. I just LOVE Portland! I have not lived in many places (Joisey, Bawsten aka Boston, Cleveland, Rochester, Pittsburgh) but out of all of them I just feel at home here. It's small enough to get around almost the entire city by bike, have enough cultural things to do (symphony, opera, ballet, pop/rock/indie concerts, clubs), some sports, parks, good restaurants, near the ocean and the mountains and the river, not too expensive or crowded, and has a nice laid back and "green" attitude.

In two weeks I am getting psyched up for a 102 mile bike ride. This should be my last big ride of the year. This is a scary, marathon effort that is 35 miles more than my longest ride (this past Sunday). I am most worried about the big hill it suppose to have at mile 65.

Anyway, I love this place.

Mark

Very well said, Isys.

Laurie- what seems like a problem is that he can't see why this would be a boundary issue. Even entertaining the idea of going on a cruise with the ex, in the same room, without you, would have me running for the door. I'm sorry because I know you were trying to give EMT a shot.

He might even be testing boundaries too.
