Encouragement for the rejected....

I'm so happy.... I found my book "How To Get A Date Worth Keeping" by Henry Cloud.

I'm going to quote his book.... this is from the last page...

Don't allow getting turned down to be anything except a learning experience and evidence that you tried. If there is a reason you got turned down that you could cange, such as your coming on too strong or some other personal trait, learn from that and go forward. Either way, don't let it affect you. Get your personal validation somewhere else. Consider dating from the perspective of a soldier in a war. (I hope it isn't that adversarial, so forgive me the metaphor!) You get your support from the ones on your side, and then you go out to battle and come back to get your support again. Lick your wounds and get back in there.

...Dating is about growing -- spiritually, personally, relationally -- and having some great experiences. Don't let dating get you down, and don't put too much stock in any one date or any one person. There are a few billion more out there. Decided in advance to have a good time in this great adventure. If you end up getting married as a result, this is the only time you will ever have to just date. ENJOY!

So this is where i get my attitude about dating (Although, the fwb attitude is my own...). This book really helped me turn my thinking around and begin to enjoy this thing called dating. I view this board very much as my support group... and i tend to seek validation here.. but then i get back up and get back out there.. And do this dating thing all over again.

Happy thoughts going out to the dating warriors on this board.

Love,

Loonybunny
