Big hugs to you sweety...I am the same way where I wear my heart on my sleeve. I get so disappointed when i meet someone who I think I really connect with and they don't feel the same...chefguy for me.
I'm glad that you have come to make a decision for yourself where you feel you are doing what's best for you.
I'm sorry to hear this! You really seemed to like him, and vice versa! So have you TOLD him this yet, that you won't be seeing him anymore? What will you say if/when he does call to see how your trip is going?
I guess I'm just not sure about saying "next" so quick just because he didn't call when he said he would. I know it's good to have someone with integrity when it comes to doing what he says- but it's just a phone call. And your relationship isn't all that old yet, IMO- to be expecting a huge regularity in the communication just yet.
((((((((hugs)))))))))) then- because I'm a big believer of intuition, too. Just hate to see stuff end for any of us here when there's attraction/fun happening!

It's never too late to live happily ever after, and always be grateful for those who make our souls blossom.
Okay kymom..... that's what I meant about it seeming like you were ending it so quickly and you haven't even talked with him about it. I just felt like you guys should at least discuss it first before deciding to part ways or not! Although it's only a new dating relationship (very new!)... better to keep the lines of communication open from the start.
I'm glad he explained things to you. I know I broke up with Marlboro Man (someone I dated in 2003) because he smoked. Smoking was a deal-breaker for me. So I can see CK's point. And if his dad died because of a smoke-related issue... then I can see why he might be pulling away if you are still smoking. It was probably painful for him to watch his dad's health decline. But I'm glad you guys are TALKING about stuff. At least you can understand what happened, even if it still leads to calling it off. But if you both decide to try it longer... you have an understanding about more things- and that's always a good thing.
If the Next is going to happen... at least wait until you're back from your trip. JMO... ((((((hugs))))))

Seems like the more distance between you the more motivated they get to come closer.
