Last night I was able to get out of the house for a little bit. Went to Walmart, then stopped at a karaoke bar for a little bit. There were all old people.. ya know, not like a Saturday night. But I sat next to an ole chap from England. At first, I just assume he was an old drunk...lol...and thought it was creepy that the old guy would talk to me... (I know, shame on me for judging).
Anyway, he went up to sing and surprised me. Instead of singing something like "My Way" or "Ring of Fire" with slured speach and off tune... he sang a newer song "I'm Already There" and he was VERY good. On tune and a powerful voice. So, we chatted afterwards... He introduced himself, then offered to buy me a drink, but I was done for the night. If I had to guess his age, I'd say late 40s (maybe early 50s). And a very HOT english accent. I found myself thinking, I'd go out with this chap. lol But we watched tv at the bar, tried to read the closed caption and figure out the plot of a show.... He also likes to sing karaoke during the week when it isn't crowded just like me. I told him it was nice meeting him. He said the pleasure was his. How sweet....
So, I enjoyed the company of an older man for a change.

I think for men it's certainly not about a girl's intellect or personality. Clearly she doesn't know better and he's there for his jollies. I'm 8 months preg. so in my light sleep/insomnia of last night I heard them arrive back here, laughing drunkenly - 4:00 a.m.! - I'll hand it to him, he has energy.
I FEEL SO OLD!!! I'm actually now happy to be a single parent w. young kids, the men of today are getting too scary.
