So, today I had to go and take my kayak lesson. We learned how to do tight turns, figure eights, self rescue - fall out, get back in and help someone else, backwards, sideways and forward paddle. I actually feel like I know what I am doing with it.
KM was at the same park - that is where he trains - it is a very popular place with kayakers because it is shallow and there are no motor boats - and it is a nature preserve. Very nice indeed. So after my lesson we went for a paddle and he showed me another launch place and the trails. Then we were talking. He got me a green hat to match my boat - and he helped me load it up. Then he asked me to have lunch with him - so off we went.
We ate at a nice spot on the beach - had to park and do some walking to get there so that was okay.
I guess I was impressed about his stories of his daughter - she got through college in 3 years and is a teacher - she is really responsible and sweet and tutors kids.
Overall this kayaking trip went very well - we talked and seemed more relaxed.
I guess I do feel he is a quality person and he is fit and attractive and nice - but I want it to roll down the hill at its own pace and see how everything develops over time.
OH - and one more thing - he drove all the way here to help teach me how to take the kayak off the top of my car and put it up and make sure I store it right and can fit the car in the garage with the folding rack on top.

I have met some kids who have problems and it is just a semi fluke but the parents are great but when you see a great kid who is smart and together and cares about the world, there is usually a wonderful parent there somewhere - maybe even two of them! I just think the thing about his daughter says a lot about him.
it certainly sounds like he has a big old crush on you!!
