And I couldn't be happier! He thought he would shock me by bringing her to one of his visits with DD. I knew something was up because he was calling to confirm he was coming over - since when did that start?! LOL! They are perfect for each other!! I even told him that. He says she lives in another state and he is going to move in with her. I am thinking "Don't let the door hit your azz on the way out!" LOL!
Anway, I am stuck in a rut when it comes to dating....so far I seem to be meeting the guys that are full of compliments but when the night is over, don't ask for my number. Then I have the guys at work tell me that I have it all together and that they know I must have dates all the time. When I tell them I don't they don't believe me. Weird!? I haven't been on a date since I met my Ex 7 years ago. I joined a group for single parents and its not as exciting as I thought it would be, most of the people in it are a lot older than me. With a one year old DD, it's hard enough to go out. I am not on the prowl for a daddy for DD or a new husband, just some fun, and I am not even talking about sex, I just mean fun. I won't do online dating, too many bad experiences from my friends who do that. Any advice, similar stories, etc?

I like your story about the exh!! You have a very fun spirit.
WELCOME - stay here on this board with us!! You are fun and we would love to hear more.
I am in the same boat as you with regards to dating and meeting someone. I did do online dating and gave that up after a year. I did learn a lot - about people - about making decisions quickly and not wasting time with the wrong person - and about what I really want from someone - AND I learned that not all men want a relationship - some just want sex.
I haven't really joined any singles groups - they did have one here but I didn't like the people - too stagnant.
I am a triathlete so I have a huge social circle - stay very fit - go to fun races even out of the country - meet people biking, swimming, running - have my 17 y/o body back - set a good example of fitness for my son. I am having fun!! And one day the right person is going to find me. I have had people ask me out - yes - but not a lot - and not anyone I would say yes to!!
I think you should develop interests - exercise or anything - join a gym where they have babysitting if you can swing it - or just get out there with your child and a babyjogger or wagon - get walking - anything.
You can make friends everywhere you go - the park, church, grocery store, doctor's office, dentist's office, friends, friends of friends. Just keep being as sociable as you can and keep doing different things and making new friends. Pretty soon you will have some very good ones.
I think it is best to meet someone in your every day life. And sometimes that can be someone you have known a while and all of a sudden zippo- a little chemistry comes into play.
