Mike, I am so sorry to hear about this.
Awww (((((((((((MIKE)))))))))))
Sounds like things are progressing nicely with her, and I'm thrilled to hear that she has instructed the hospital staff to keep you informed- to me that says a lot!
((hugs)) TbearMike,
It is difficult to wait out something like this especially when you've been keeping things loose. As another poster stated, you now know she considers you someone important enough in her life to be kept apprised of her situation. Both of my son's have asthma as does my BF M. Thankfully, it is very mild for my boys, only during S19's allergy season and S17 just needs to pay attention if he gets an upper respiratory infection. M is more like your friend J, daily inhaler, can't go anywhere without it. But if he wound up in the hospital his first call would be to either his D15 or his X, not me. He'd assume I would hear about it and I'd be able to cope. Maybe not, maybe I'm projecting my past with PsychoBoy on M. Hopefully, I'll never find out.
We'll all be praying for J's speedy recovery.

Take care Mike.
Mike, my prayers go out to her as an asthmatic myself, it's scary to hear about these things.
The fact that she wanted you informed, shows that you are special to her, that's
touching.
Stay strong, all will be well.
hugs and prays to both you and J.
JL
I'm sending prayers and hugs to you both.
Mike,
