HUGS and more HUGS
I recall your son is quite young- it is only natural for you to miss him to the point of physical pain once he's gone more than 48 hours. I assure you, 10 days is long for him too. It is nice for him to have time with his extended family, and that is important for him, too. But separation from his primary care giver for that long, that young, is going to be rough on both of you. It does get easier with time. My D4 is staying 2 extra days at her dad's this week because his sister is visiting and I will be taking her to OH for a week to be with my family. She will be away from me for 5 days. By tomorrow she will begin asking when she's going to be with Mommy again and I will be getting antsy to have her back. Her custody schedule is set up so that she is not away from me for more than 2 consecutive nights nor away from her dad for more than 5 days. It is difficult for her when that schedule changes, but life happens and the whole world can't live by our custody schedule.
So try to keep busy. I try to use the time w/out D4 to get house projects done, see friends and of course, spend time with my BF. Go shopping. Go to the movies. Clean out the closets, whatever you can do to keep your mind off the fact your son is not with you.
Hugs again
QB, who misses S16 and S19 too, but not quite the same way since they are teens and need to have their own lives now

Oh dear - that is a long time and especially when you are used to being with him 24/7 and he is so young - HUGS for sure!! I bet he misses you too and you both will have such a happy reunion when he comes back. Not sure what else to say except what QB suggests.

I know it's hard when they go away- my DD goes up to see her grandparents every summer for about 10 days. I get sad and miss her like crazy. What makes me feel better is to plan out a nice day or evening with her when she returns..do some of her favorite stuff with her..make her homecoming a big deal. It helps to think of that! What day does your DS return?

Big {{{{hugs}}}} Savannah. It must be hard when he is little & you are used to always having him around. Try & enjoy yourself a bit.
