Finally Met EMT

I have changed his name from medic to EMT since someone on the board is already dating a medic and it would just confuse things.

Anyhow we went out for pizza. He is a big gentleman. Opened doors. Paid. Wow. I was impressed! A nice man. Active and actually wants to do active things with me. Now here's the impressive part. I drove home in the mother of all thunderstorms and he called a few minutes after I got home to make sure I made it home ok. How sweet is that!?

Talks with RG went so so. Once again told him that we should be just friends and not exclusive. Yet again he got tongue tied and loss of words. He says he's going to try to spend more time with me and wanted to get back into running together again. But I stuck to my guns and said its just friends and not exclusive. So thats where we left it and I am not upset this time. He let me down too many times lately so the moving on doesnt hurt so much anymore.

And for the first time in a long time I am at peace.

That is a very good update. EMT sounds promising. RG hasn't stepped up and let me tell you about those promises; they only go so far. The real question is do they sustain them through time. My experience, they promise anything under duress but can't hold up there end once you let your guard down. Good for you for keeping your options open.

My new motto " never commit to a guy who can't fully commit to you" and that means in every way. One thing I realize I have been missing is true affection (no not sex). I am talking about someone being into you enough that you know it and it feels good; they do things to please/impress you. I held on way too long to an emotionally stingy man.

Glad EMT seems like a good guy. That call IS nice! Good sign.

As for RG - well, he made his bed!

At peace is a great place to be. I feel that I make the best decisions about relationships and life in general coming from that place.

Good for you!

Good advice. And this last minute 'oh lets spend more time together and start running again' effort to save the relationship is taken with a grain of salt. Why should I take a back seat to his car, house and job when there are men out there that want to spend time with me?!

Stomping, cheering, and applauding.
