I finally met someone who has some promise. My dd who is a very talented musician, was invited to partcipate in a city wide music event, last night. The event was vey nice and had a lot of really talented musicians and teachers and such. There was one very attractive, talented gentleman who performed, he is a teacher who is also the director of a musical program that runs a lot of good programs to brings music to kids who otherwise wouldn't have the opportunity.
After the show, he made the rounds to talk to the parents of some of the kids who had performed. He was really blown away by my dd skills and I as a proud mom just gushed.
We started talking and really hit it off. He very cautiously(he's kind of shy)
tried to find out more about me( am I single;etc). He found out that my dd wants to try out for the School of the Arts next year, she told him that she didn't know what piano piece to play to impress them at her audition. He then used that as an opening to get my email address. Well lo and behold he emailed me this morning with sheet music for my daughter and a long, very nice email for me!
We seem to have a lot in common, bad thing he travels a lot, but that could be a good thing for me, as I like lots of space. I emailed him back with some of my stats, so
let's see if he can digest them. I can tell he's nerveous which I actually like, as it shows me that he's not a player. I also asked around and he's never tried to make nice with any of the other Mom's before plus some of the folks there know him for a long time and think he's a really great guy (I know-no guarantee), still it helps.
Lets see if I even hear back from him and if he even sums up the courage to ask to me out.
If nothing comes of it, I'm ok with that, but after 2 years of nothing, it was finally nice to have male attention.
Thought I share with my boardie peeps.

I love this story, and I'm rooting for him already! Music men, especially shy ones who seem genuine, are definitely my downfall.
You have to keep us updated, since I simply must know how this turns out!!

Thanks Moody. I too have a soft spot for musicians, as I was once head over heels for one
in college. He's also really cute, tall and was really well dressed with a nice suit.
He also has the most georgeous salt and pepper hair.
If I do end up dating him, I'm in trouble! As I will have a hard time keeping
my hands off of him :-)
I'll let you guys know how it turns out.
My advice is play it cool, get to know him as a friend first, if he likes you enough to ask you out-he will.
Taina!! I have known you for a long time here - you have always done so well to just raise the kids and grandbabies and hold your head high. So when I read your subject line I was so surprised and said, "WOOHOO!"
That is quite encouraging - and I do love everything you write.
Keep us posted. You are right - at the very least it is fun and nice male attention - and at the very most it is something more - and more stories for us as well.
I am keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Good news about your daughter and her accomplishments. Your hard work shows! Very good!!
Judy, thanks so much! You have me gushing and blushing at your kind words.
Queen, thanks for the advice, I will definately heed your words, as I get the
he wants to take it slow and get to know me vibe from him anyway, which I really
like. I just have to get the lustful thoughts out of my head :-)
