First date in four months!

Well after taking some time off I have finally agreed to a date. I am a 30-year-old divorced single WAHM to a 5-year-old. I just got tired of the drama after my last short relationship and decided to take time off. This man is someone I used to talk to frequently before that other relationship and we have been talking again. I have decided to do it again. I am just looking for a friendship to go to movies or dinner once every week or two with and hopefullly adult companionship and intimacy. This man seems to want the same thing and I figure worse case scenario there is no attraction and I gain a friend only. Wish me luck! It is so scary and I just want as little drama as possible so I can remain focused on my son and career yet still be a "woman" as well as a mom and provider.

Have you discussed where your going to go out or what your going to do? Or leaving it all up to him? If your so nervous, you must be wondering what to wear! LOL. So what are you going to wear? Lol. A womans favorite thing to ask before a date.

Well we have talked and I think we are going to do dinner so we can get to know each other and if things go okay we will watch or rent a movie. I have no clue what I will wear and the weather in North Texas is acting crazy. Wearing shorts(not ready need a tan BAD) and supposed to get cold I think tomorrow and Thursday. If warm capris and if cold my trusty cruel girl jeans. Shirt who knows!

It sounds like you have a good outfit plan. We did have a rather lively discussion here regarding how to prepare for a first date:

along with the outcome:

I am sure that will help you and amuse you!! So many different approaches from just cherry chapstick and a whole princess routine. Also some good tips on not eating anything messy.

I have found that keeping it simple and short on the first date is always best. I would be inclined to pass on the movie, especially if it is at a house (too much temptation for intimacy too soon in my opinion).

NOW you have to keep us updated - come back and tell us how it went!! Good luck!!
