First first date in thirteen years!

Well, I did it. I went out on a first date for the first time in over thirteen years. The kids were with their dad for one of their two overnights a month so that made it easier. He is a nice guy who I went to college with but didn't really know - he was a friend of someone I knew well.
We had a great evening and he said he'd like to see me again. It was nice to be complimented and be out with someone new.
Our plan is to get together again when the kids are with their father. New guy lives a little bit of a distance away so this builds in a pressure off schedule to take things slowly. And I don't have to worry about the kids wondering who mommy's new friend is.
They see me go out with people they've always known but I have no intention of introducing someone new into their lives unless it were to be someone who will be around for a long time. New guy understands my concern about the kids and says he'll follow my lead.
It just seems crazy to think about seeing someone only twice a month. What kind of future could there possibly be in that? But that is a bridge I'll cross when I get there.
Thanks to everyone who gave me advice.

That is great that you went ahead and went out on a date. :) It is definitely awkward at first but you'll be able to practice. :)
Let us know how things go!
