FLOORS?????????????

Okay all - since you were such a help with my laundry, now I need help with the floors!! Maybe just to hear what everyone else does - commiserate - or to learn something new or a shortcut.

The traffic in this house dictates the sweeper every day. I have this battery powered sweeper that can run through the house in one fell swoop, even does area rugs, no cord. But I have to use it every day. In fact today was twice because I have to get up early to swim tomorrow and I know I won't like leaving so early if the floors are a mess. Every so often I use the super de duper vacuum cleaner for the house and mop as needed (I have tile).

What is everyone doing with their floors?

Yikes!!! Maybe I should get one of those batter powered things for touch-ups. I have a Rainbow and it is a pain to get out and going. I usually vacuum about once a week (sometimes less). We are home so little right now, I have a hard time finding the time. Our house is also kind of big (7 carpeted rooms and stairs/hallway) so it takes a lot to keep up. I also need to mop the kitchen and bathrooms.

I had a one point come up with a room a day cleaning plan to keep things up but that has fallen off. Maybe I should do a big clean and try to get back to that. Seems to be good. I still don't think I could vacuum more than 1x per week. Most nights, with all the extra activities. We don't stop until around 8:30 from running, dinner ect. By then I have to start winding down so that I can sleep. Bed time is 10:00 for mom most nights.

I guess I might be able to make good use of some the the responses as well.
