Ok, so here is the scoop. C and I had a conversation the night before about how I wanted him to date other people. That didn't end too well. He wanted to sign off from chatting pretty quickly after I told him that. Last night he contacted me and said he really needs to talk to me. He said, he felt the conversation the night before didn't end well. That he is glad that I took the time to email him afterwards and that he understands where I am coming from. He also said he just isn't the type to date more then one person and that he is so comfortable with me, but he really doesn't want to explore that further, but if that is what I really want, he'll try but can't promise. I just told him I wanted the door to be open for him. I told him I felt like I didn't want to analyze and hypothesis the whole thing any further, because I really can't tell him what i think he is thinking or ready for. I told him I am in a different point in my life and had different circumstances and that the only way I can try to understand where he is at in his life,

Hmmm. I agree with what you write. Don't know what else to say!

I wonder if his dating history would help? Do you like him?

Part of me wants to say maybe you hit the jackpot and the other part says be careful. LOL!!

I like how you use the bicycle analogy of Gear 1 for your budding relationship with C.

I really commend you on how well thought out you've been, Cat. You are doing a really amazing job at feeling both with your heart and your head. It's very wise- and I really think that TG will appreciate this in you- even if he does not see it yet- how your pacing things, gear 1, is the best way to secure a relationship that could last.

I am really impressed. You're looking down the road and using your wits- bravo, bravo, BRAVO!

He wrote this to me yesterday when we discussed him openly dating:

my feelings right now to tell me that we have a good connection and to not explore that connection wouldnt be doing me right, granted timing is not where we both might not like ot to be, but sometimes you cant predict when things will happen. if i did meet someone else I clicked with, I would explore it, but for now I need to follow my feelings..to be someone who understands me and allows me to share my thoughts feelings and emotions..right now, thats you. catherine your special...weve known each other like one week..ive told you things, shared things, i've never shared so early in a relationship. you make me comfortable in what could be a very uncomfortable situation.

I am struck by some parallels that you shared between you and C that I see that is between me and CNDG.

I echo the feelings that C has expressed to you with CNDG where I thought her a once-in-a-lifetime person because of the connection we have/had in the couple short months we have known each other.

So CNDG is doing the same thing as what you told C you are doing, i.e. out to date others.
