getting older and feeling it

OK So I found a grey hair. OK two of them. Bf pulled one out yesterday but I found one on my birthday of all days a few months ago. I am 34. I have gained ten pounds over the past year and look older, and have wrinkles!!! HOw can this be happening? I am slightly horrified and yet I think I might still be abel to save myself. So....I joined a gym again. I have been in in great shape before and I also have done bikram yoga all within the past five years so I hope my body remembers this. I have my first training session tomorrow to remind me. Wish me luck. I think it will be slightly embarassing to take the fitness test, admit I have a broken tail bone - you know, the usual.
Now to the wrinkles....mainly around my eyes a bit and on my forehead because I worry and squint a lot. I bought myself some sunglasses. DUH. I also invested in some different skincare that I have been looking at for months. I have good skin for the most part but I havent been really taking care of it. I dont always take off my make up properly ( I know, yuck but I get tired and just cant be bothered) and even though I do use moisturizer, I am not using anti aging stuff regularly. I need a routine. So I got that Clarisonic thing. That whirly brushy thing that looks like the toothbrush but is for your skin. I am psyched to try it. I dont know what anti aging products to look into but I figured I would take it one step at a time. A cleanser comes with the clarisonic and I have a day moisturizer from Olay with SPF and I will use that for now. I am OPEN FOR SUGGESTIONS!!!
I need to feel sexier and younger again. I dont really know when I let myself off the hook over here but I think some of the weight is love weight ( thats what I call it) SYB has gained weight too so we joined the gym together. I have never had a bf that went to the gym with me. I think it will help to do this together. We are also both really good cooks so I think we will be eating in more. The gym is actually walkable from our place and there are stores in between that have fresh fish and produce - really my favorite market, plus bank and pet store, etc. Very convenient.
Is anyone else feeling suddenly older and wrinkly? Misery loves company and all that. It is just rough to realize I am not that cute girl in my twenties anymore. Where did she go??

Hi City!!!!!
OK you really don't want to know what we suggested to Cat when she asked the same thing, do you?? We laughed our a**es off over that!!! Here's a reminder- spackle, tape, paper bags....lol!!!
good thing we all have a sense of HUMOR!! Aging take a great sense of humor! OK seriously though...do you know when I got my first grey hair? I was 20! Then they came in like gang busters...I was 100 percent grey at age 30. I now do a very natural color rinse which works but darn it...I was short changed!! Feel lucky that you got your FIRST one some much later!
Oh the wrinkles thing...I was so blessed to have a great complextion my whole life. Guess when I started noticing changes...when I got divorced and then took on a more stressful position at work. In fact I looked in the mirror a few months ago, noticed those forehead lines and it really caught me off guard, I was like WTF? Noo!!
I have no advice for the skin thing...just ask Cat about our really great "advice" about that!
As for the weight, it seems like in our thirties that happens, a slower metabolism. I used to shed weight so easily, I could practically shed weight by just thinking about it. Those days are gone and now I am having to be really conscious about what I eat. I have also increased my activity a bit.
That's great about your new gym membership! And with SYB joining too, you will have a companion and that makes it so much better. Good luck with this!
Yeah, the age thing has been on my mind too. At least I FEEL young, lol!!!
My hand is raised so high….I, too, have been feeling every one of my 42 years.
Well you knew I would agree with this one. I have a friend who is 73 and just did an Ironman - and there is no way he looks 73. His body looks much younger.
So I guess keep working out. And on the really bad days borrow the tape, bags and spackle from Cat and PacSun. LOL!!
My hair is gray - but no one knows because my hairdresser dyes it. That used to really annoy me because I hate sitting and waiting for the dye - but then I said at least this is something I can fix.
On days when I really need a pick me up I go shopping!! Retail therapy rules.
Oh boy can I commiserate!
