I had such a good time with my class last night. They were so appreciative that I am willing to spend the time teaching them and thanked me more than once. I told them I am glad and that for me, this is fun - not work. And it's true. It energizes me and I look forward to every class. That is how I want to feel in whatever career I end up choosing. It could be ESL, or something else cultural related. My grad classes make me feel the same way.

Which brings me to my question of the week.

What is your dream job or career? What would make you feel like you were playing, not working?

Ha! I've been thinking about this. It'll sound a little silly perhaps, but I'd LOVE to do cakes. Wedding cakes, birthday, anniversary and showers. Bake and decorate. From home. I think they're beautiful. They're more labor intensive than a major overhead expense, so my money earned would be on my hard work.

I think I'd love that. I've always wanted to, since I was a little girl. And I like watching the shows where people do it.

Going to take a class and see if I've any talent for it at all and then go from there.

I went to a kickboxing class on Monday night and I was watching the instructor thinking I could have majored in physical education and got to wear sweats to work :)

I think I would like to do some kind of personal financial planning or maybe debt counseling. I love giving advice and it wouldn't be such a stretch to get some additional certifications. I can get a broker license pretty easily, and if I wanted I could take the CFP exam, or there is a certification for CPA's called Personal Financial Specialist (PFS). It would be several years down the road before I could think of making a career switch, and I would have to do something to make sure it was really a good move for me. Talking to people about their personal finances would be a lot more interesting than what I do now. Anyway, it's just an idea at this point.

I don't see anything silly about that. There's a demand for it, and if you have something a little unique people will eat it up...(punny, yeah I know). It would be fun, too...you could be creative with it.

I am doing what I love - being creative with food and working from home. There is no way I could make this better.

If I was to "add on" - it would be for doing something with exercise - maybe creating a triathlon training program for children.
